Massive management failure. A perfectly nice / easy dining spot by the river but here’s several instances of service and management failure : We walked in and management was chatting away to stay recognising people are queuing up at the door, and was completely unbothered - customers then were compelled to walk upto her inside by the bar to ask if they could sit and where etc After 10mins, no attended to our table. I walked up to the manager again asking for the menu. We were 3 - she handed me 25 menu cards or more - very bizarre - I did however ask her if it was self service and she said someone who attend to the table soon so we waited No one came after another 10mins, so I again walked up to the staff who were chatting away, not seen to do any work for several minutes - maybe more. I asked them to please serve and then finally they sent someone to take out orders Food and drinks pretty quickly after placing the orders which was nice - but we weren’t asked if we needed anything (basics like ketchup, salt, pepper - nothing) and we were not given it either. I had to again go up and ask. Upon asking, one of the woman waitresses said “ketchup and napkins are there at the bar” - I was really confused as it was table service and she didn’t appear to be doing anything at all for the entire time we were there which was more than an hour at this point… and I then said “I see so I have to get it?” And she just stood there looking at my face and so I just walked over several metres, for it and served ourselves Every time we needed anything, I had to walk up to ask for someone to attend to us
It was by far the worst management and service I’ve actually ever experienced in London or anywhere nationally or internationally for that matter.
Given what a wonderful spot it actually is where locals and visitors can afford a perfectly easy and convenient meal, they can do SIGNIFICANTLY better with management and basic service etiquette so they don’t have to shut down soon after just opening!!!
Trying to be helpful with my advice here as I live very very close (few metres away in one of the new builds) and I would love to frequent the place but not with this service - I would imagine everyone else locally feels the same including my neighbour who...
Read morePopped in here today for a drink and a spot of food before we went next door to the friends experience. We couldn't figure out what time food starts as there was only a QR code on the table s, no menus and online didn't specify either. We ordered drinks through the QR code and waited 20 minutes , then I went up.to the bar to find out how long the drinks would be to discover they hadn't received my order. I overheard a waitress say to another barman that someone else had ordered thru the app and were waiting for thier drinks, to which he responded 'I guess if they come up to the bar I'll make thier drinks because the Q R code isn't working. No one had been made aware of this untill after they had ordered and waited ages. I showed them my receipt and the bar man/manager(own clothes) proceeded to make my cocktails. After about 10 mins I had one cocktail placed in front of me and then half a glass of another. The barman looked at the half glass he had given me, sighed loudly then started making the drink again so he could top it up. He mostly filled it up with ice tho. As I was watching him.make the cocktail he was shaking it and it was spraying all over the bar - he then couldn't find a sieve which I could see many of along the bar - finally got our drinks after 40 mins and we had to drink them really fast and leave within 10 minutes to make our show next door. Such a shame because the bar itself is really beautiful in a lovely location along the water front. It's immaculate inside and nicely decorated , but the service really let it down. We decided to go...
Read moreWe came here after visiting the F1 exhibition. I saw tacos and thought great, as did my friend. Wow were we wrong about having tacos. Just to highlight that tacos do NOT contain rice, those are called burritos. But somehow this place took tacos (which were stale and fell apart) and stuffed them with rice and added a tiny bit of meat. I’ve never had a taco with rice stuffed into the bottom of it, it was awful and dry even with the tiny portion of salsa and lettuce provided. When my friend complained to the manager it was just met with “thanks for the feedback” there was no sympathy or offer of money back or even a drink on the house. The service from working staff was good (though sometimes we were sat longer without menus or food longer than we should have been, and mentioned by other reviewers) but the manager seemed to have preferred to be elsewhere as the complaint was completely ignored and she clearly couldn’t have cared less. Atrocious! @waterfront, I’ve added reference images from Wikipedia for you to consider so you can study what actually goes into a taco (not rice) and what goes in a burrito (rice)! That was a culinary crime against Mexican food. The battered cauliflower was ok as was the burger, but despite that, I definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place, particularly when it comes to tacos but mainly the trust in management to rectify highlighted issues with food. Lastly I would hope steps are taken to remove the moronic menu/ordering process through an app - I had to enable NFC on my phone and it was slow and laggy...
