A Cozy, Historic Spot for Post-Dinner Drinks. We stopped by Ye Olde Cock Tavern on Fleet Street for post-dinner drinks, and it was the perfect way to wind down the evening. The pub oozes old-world charm, with its dark wood interiors, low ceilings, and traditional decor that instantly transports you to another era. It’s one of those places where you can feel the history in the walls. Even late in the evening, the atmosphere was lively but relaxed, ideal for conversation over a pint. The staff were friendly and welcoming, quick to serve and happy to recommend a few local ales. We tried a couple of their cask selections and were impressed by how well-kept they were. The drinks menu is solid, with a good mix of beers, wines, and spirits. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for something authentic and unpretentious in central London. Whether you’re popping in after dinner, escaping the bustle of the city, or just want a quiet drink in a historic setting, Ye Olde Cock Tavern delivers. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

My husband and I really like this restaurant and bar—especially because the food is delicious and the drinks are great! My husband particularly enjoyed his craft beer, and the overall atmosphere inside is quiet, warm, and cozy. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the restrooms are. The venue seems to have three floors: the ground floor where the restrooms are located, the first floor which serves as the main dining and bar area, and a third floor that appears to be more private. I’m not sure if you need to book in advance to sit on the third floor, but we didn’t choose to sit there as it felt a bit far from the staff and service area. We ended up sitting on the second floor, which offered a good balance—comfortable and with easy access to service.

Lad & Dad up in town to do a bit of research for a play we are putting on so popped into this lovely pub to grab some lunch. Really friendly pub, but note the opening hours, I think it mainly caters for people who work in the area. It’s a Green King, they have a good selection of beer on tap, loads of Gin, decent wine list etc. For food I went for the beef ciabatta & the lad had chicken & bacon. Both were well presented, were a reasonable size and tasty - definitely filled a hole. Very reasonably priced, great service & a nice atmosphere. Would recommend if you find yourself on Fleet Street

Booked a reservation for a 6:30pm table; arrived a little early and waited for a friend to arrive. At around 6:37pm we approached a member of staff to ask about our seats, to which she screamed across that she could not hear us, which was quite abrupt and unexpected. We found the table that we had reserved and someone was already sat there so we explained to them that we had the table booked and he respectfully left the table. Moments later, the same angry staff member then approached the table again in a raised voice screaming that the table was reserved for someone else. I explained it was the table I had booked and she then angrily explained how booking processes worked, she was loud, angry, patronizing and completely off putting. Needless to say our appetites disappeared. The bar was busy enough but honestly not as busy to warrant such a hostile attitude towards 3 customers. It is an historic pub, but I really doubt it has stayed open as long as it has if this is the usual behaviour of its staff. This particular staff member needs a refresh on the basics of...

I went to this pub last night & I have NEVER been spoken to so rudely by staff before.

I had just finished WORKING & I went in and was asked multiple times if I had had too much to drink? I was nothing but polite to them when I placed my order so it puzzles me how they could have asked me that...?

I appreciated that they were closing soon but one of the members of staff came up to my friend and I THREE times within the space of 2 minutes giving us a countdown of when to leave although he had CLEARLY seen that I was nearly finished with my drink AND I had told him I was aware and that I would be gone by the time they needed us out. They were so rude and I recommend that their manager deals with this so no customers are spoken to unnecessarily like this again.

I felt bullied by both of the male members of staff who were on the bar and I recommend any future customers to avoid this place at all costs if they are expecting somewhere with basic levels of...
