I visited Ye Ye Noodle Place with high expectations, but unfortunately, the service was disappointing. When I arrived, a girl with long black hair told me to wait until both parties were seated, which I understood since they wanted everyone seated together. However, I noticed that a man, who was also waiting for his party, was seated before me. I politely asked why he was seated, and her response was defensive. She explained that he had ordered food, promised to finish within an hour, and made a reservation—though, as we all know, this restaurant only accepts walk-ins. While I understand the importance of policies, it felt like they were being applied inconsistently.
To make matters worse, when I tried to take a picture of the open kitchen, she told me photography wasn’t allowed, despite there being no signage to indicate this rule. This was especially frustrating and targeted since there are pictures of the kitchen available online (I will attach screenshots as proof).
The food arrived quickly and was tasty, and the rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. However, the greeting staff clearly needs better training. The behavior of the woman at the front really soured my experience. She also screamed “滚” (which means “go away”), and I overheard her speaking loudly and aggressively with swear words to the other staff in Chinese about the situation, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and was completely unprofessional. Additionally, she kept staring at me and my friend as we dined, which added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. On the other hand, the rest of the staff was very understanding, apologetic, and polite (offered us free soda as compensation), while she maintained a negative attitude toward us.
I believe every customer should be treated equally and with respect. While the food was good and the other staff was kind, the poor attitude of the front-line staff made the experience not worth the trouble(reading other reviews seems like other customer have troubling experiences with her as well, and seems like no change have been made). I really hope the management team could work on the training and...
Read moreTerrible experience. Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted by a male staff member who offered us a table in the basement. However, he was abruptly and rudely shouted at by a female staff member, who reprimanded him in front of us, claiming it wasn’t his job to greet guests and telling him to return to his position. This behavior was extremely unprofessional, as it created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both staff and guests.
The female staff member who directed us to the basement displayed poor manners, and we didn’t feel nearly as welcomed by her compared to the initial male staff member. When we asked to sit at a standard-height table due to back issues, we were flatly refused and forced to sit at high tables, despite the restaurant being relatively empty at the time. It was frustrating, as there was no reasonable explanation given for denying our request, and we ended up seated uncomfortably for the entire meal.
Additionally, we were informed that we had only an hour to dine. Despite ordering a significant amount of food—noodles, several sides, and 20 dumplings—the last batch of dumplings only arrived with 20 minutes remaining. This left us rushing to finish, as they do not allow takeaway, which added unnecessary stress to our dining experience.
To make matters worse, when we requested tap water, the staff outright refused. When I brought up that licensed restaurants are legally required to provide tap water, the staff responded that management was aware but still refused to comply. I’ve seen other reviews mention that their excuse is the tap water being dirty—if that’s the case, they should offer bottled water for free. It’s unacceptable to shift the burden onto customers, as providing drinking water is a basic right.
Although the food was good, I will not return. I cannot support a business that mistreats both its staff...

YEYE’s Noodles & Dumplings is hands down one of the best spots in London for authentic Chinese comfort food. I visited the branch on Artillery Passage today, and the experience was absolutely flawless from start to finish.
Food🍜 🥟 The Signature Spicy Beef Noodle Soup was a revelation. The broth was rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, clearly the result of hours of careful simmering. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the handmade noodles had an ideal chewiness that made every bite a delight.
We also ordered the Grilled Juicy Pork Dumplings, which were phenomenal. The contrast between the crispy golden base and the fluffy top was perfect, and the filling was bursting with savory juices. Each bite was better than the last!
We couldn’t resist trying the Biangbiang pork Dumplings, and they didn’t disappoint. The silky dumplings wrappers, combined with the kick of the fragrant chili oil, made for an unforgettable dish.
Service💁 The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, despite how busy the restaurant was. Our food came out quickly and piping hot, and the servers regularly checked in to make sure we were happy with everything.
Ambiance🍴 The space is cozy and vibrant, with a bustling yet welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home, even if it’s your first visit.
Overall YEYE’s offers generous portions, exceptional flavors, and a true taste of authentic Chinese cuisine at reasonable prices. Whether you’re a dumpling lover or a noodle enthusiast, you’ll find something to rave about here. I’ll definitely be back soon to explore more of their menu.
