Possibly the best coffee and brunch in the SE We have been coming here since it opened 5 years ago and a testament to how good it is that we are here every week. So pleased this is on our doorstep as we love supporting local independents, we love our food and good coffee. The coffee is brilliant and the food is spectacular. Given the small size of the premises (in the railway arches in Deptford Market Yard, part of Deptford train station) and the popularity with support from locals, expect to wait over half an hour for food and during busy times a wait for the small amount of tables. Take the time to soak up the atmosphere, take something to read or a good friend for company. The food and coffee is worth the wait as it’s made with love and care and your supporting real people. We love the toasted avocado and chicken sandwiches, bagels and sweetcorn fritters but have tried the whole menu and it’s all amazing. There is always a delicious selection of cakes, pastries and treats which go hand in hand with exceptional coffee.

Went here with my partner a few days ago, place seemed well rated so we thought we'd give it a go. When we walked in we were completely blanked by the staff. No hello, no please wait a minute, they were just having a chat and a giggle. I thought I'd take a seat and wait and then their mates came in, who they immediately acknowledged and made a coffee for ignoring us. It was a battle to get served. When we did get served they weren't very nice and were painfully slow while they chatted. The coffee was actually really good and my food was great however my partner's was a bit burned; the sourdough was so hard it cut my partner's mouth. Chef was actually nice, the rest of them seemed like they're just there to hang out. The seats were actually quite dusty. Maybe they'd clean them if they weren't pissing around. If you want a good coffee and don't mind waiting you'll probably have a good time, but if you want anything else then good luck.

Came here for breakfast as I was googling breakfast spots in the area and Lomond stood out. Great coffee!! And the gentleman (assumed the owner) was really sweet and helpful. I ordered the Turkish eggs with chorizo and added halloumi, bread was fresh and thick and perfect for lapping up every edge of my plate. Majority of the seating is outdoor though we sat inside as it was cosy. Toilets were around the corner shared with the neighbouring stores, clean and big! Thanks for the yummy breakfast!!

The coffee was ok. Above average flat white but not amazing. I tried that toasted banana bread with coffee Infused butter which again was ok. Above average not amazing. For a combined total of £5 or just over I felt I wanted a better experience that would stand out from the norm. Unfortunately the thing that really annoyed me was 3 loud mouth property tycoon / estate agent morons who seemed to be using the cafe as a base for their next strike. Regardless what really tipped the scales was a playlist of incredibly insipid, nicey nicey pseudo alternative manufactured neo boybland haircuts with guitars music. The sort of thing that a mollycoddled public schoolboy from the regions may think is dangerous. Why don't you play something cool? It doesn't have to be horrible or awkward to be cool. Some Brian eno, Kraut rock or even Bowie ? Honduran folk would do too. I'm afraid this bland insipid mix is symptomatic of what is moving in. At least in Kreuzberg, Williamsburg, Dalston or old shoreditch people retain an element of an artistic side. This is just estate agent music for ford granada drivers and graduate sales directors who didnt quite make the...

What a great place! Delicious food and coffee, and great staff even when flat out, as they have been today (Saturday late morning.) My visit today, to order my favourite dish (the Shakshuka with added chorizo) and a flat white was met with a very apologetic “it’s a 50min wait for food”, to which my reply was “and well worth it!”. A welcome excuse to sit and not feel any pressure to leave my table!

I sat inside right by the coffee machine and so had the perfect view of how the team pulled together and, literally, worked non stop for well over an 90 mins without any perceivable chance to even take a breath. As for the “7mins is too long to wait for a coffee” comments I occasionally heard….I suggest you head to McD.

My Shakshuka was utterly delicious, and the flat white, clearly made with care, looked lovely and tasted great. Sourcing and using fantastic produce only goes so far if the service isn’t great. Your team worked under huge pressure, in a tiny space and deserve a massive THANK YOU!

Highly...
