Disappointing Karahi Experience – All Hype, No Flavor
I had high hopes when I saw the menu boasting 10 different types of karahi dishes, but unfortunately, it was all smoke and mirrors. Despite the variety on paper, every "different" karahi turned out to be the same dish — a basic, onion-heavy chicken salan masquerading under different names.
I specifically ordered the karahi tomato, expecting that classic, rich tomato-based gravy. Instead, I received a dish overloaded with onions and barely any distinct tomato flavor. It tasted more like a rushed home-cooked curry than anything worthy of a restaurant menu. There was nothing special about the spice blend, no depth in flavor, and absolutely no karahi essence that sets this dish apart when made right.
To make things worse, the pricing doesn't reflect the quality. For what they charge, you'd expect something at least a little refined or unique — instead, you're paying restaurant prices for what feels like a basic weekday dinner at home.
If you're looking for authentic, flavorful karahi, this is not the place. It’s just one generic recipe recycled across the menu, dressed up with different labels. Not worth the money...
Read moreLamb Tikka is off the hook. Nice service. Firstly we walked into the main "Kebabish" down the road and thought the menu was krap and expensive.. Their food is probably fine but hardly any starters and none besides the samosas were less than a fiver! I told the waiter the kids have not got enough choice and he made a right face and took our menus away. I watched him throw the menues onto the pile at the desk with a feeling of "oh they've just wasted my time" which I thought was really rude... I knew my kids would eat fine at Lahori Kebabish so we went straight there and I thought to myself... Never try anything new on a really empty stomach especially if yours kids are with you. So we end up at Lahori Kebabish. Food is consistently good, as is the service. Chips are good too. Drinks are ice cold but get one of the cans at the back as they always restock the cans from the front. Rant over. 5 stars, they won't let you down. P.S Contrary to some other reviews they DO accept card although it may only be a recent thing as I thought it was cash only too. Better to ask to be on...
Read more've had the pleasure of ordering from this restaurant via Deliveroo on both Saturdays and Sundays, and the experiences couldn't have been more different.
Saturday's orders have consistently delivered great quantity and quality. The Punjabi lamb, chicken curry, naan, and biryani were all top-notch, leaving me satisfied every time.
However, Sundays seem to be a different story. Perhaps due to increased demand, the food quantity noticeably diminishes, and unfortunately, the quality takes a hit as well. It's disappointing to see such inconsistency from an otherwise promising establishment.
While I highly recommend trying their dishes on Saturdays, I advise caution when ordering on Sundays. Hopefully, the restaurant takes note of this feedback and works towards maintaining the same standards across all days...
