Iāve never written a review for a restraunt before as Iāve worked on the bar and as a waitress in several places! I know how hard people work and how difficult itās been at this time but I was very angry at the situation last night. Iād been out with a group of friends at another bar and they decided to go brew dog for food so they headed in and got a table, there were six of them. Me and my boyfriend turned up 20 mins later and as the place was empty we asked to sit on the table next to them which had screens up around it to keep social distance in place. We were told we were not allowed and had to sit at the table on the other side of the room! We were both very confused as to why if these measures are in place if we didnāt know the people on that table it would have been perfectly safe to sit on the table next to them. We are not the kind of people to kick off so sat on the other side of the restaurant. Both still confused I went over to ask the bar server what the guidelines they had received where. I could see both the waitress and bar staff were annoyed that we were asking as Iām sure itās been difficult keeping the drunks of Manchester in check but to be honest I felt they were both very rude! We went outside for a cigarette and told my friends sorry were not allowed to sit anywhere near you! When we went back in we tried to sit on the table next to them and were told we had to move and she had told us that when we came in and honestly it made me very angry to be spoken to like a child! When we sat back down a member off staff who had finished work got talking to us we had a chat about it the situation and how itās hard times at the moment due to the guidelines are changing so often. I donāt like confrontation at the best of times so I wouldnāt like to argue with someone just trying to do there job at the end of the day! I just feel that being forced to sit on the other side of the restaurant was just pointless and i personality havnt heard in any bar or restaurant that if you happen to know someone in the same restaurant you must be at least 5...
Read moreI used to frequent BrewDog, good atmosphere, nice and quiet at times, good beer and good service. Visited for the first time this evening for a couple of the favourite IPA and grab a burger with the colleagues. As the place was busy, I didn't have opportunity to utilise a table, however asked the bar staff if there was any issue with ordering to the bar, of which they informed me there was none. Received my burger, on something similar to that you receive your bill for the end of the evening, on it's own (bearing in mind I opted for no fries), and with no cutlery or napkins. Upon asking the bar staff for a napkin to mop up the excess grease of my finest brioche bun with ground meat, a slither of lettuce and a piece of gherkin that looks to have been found at the bottom of the jar, with a vast swimming pool of Heinz finest BBQ sauce, I was given the option of "asking the table behind me to pass me one over", as that's where they were situated. Informing the member of bar staff that "it was rather unbecoming of me to ask a table if I could have one of their napkins and that it should have been served with the burger", I received a tirade of pitiful, derogatory, "OK sir, not a problem sir, I'll ask them for you sir". If you are charging £8 for a soggy burger and £5 a pint, at least have the courtesy to ensure that the people that are paying your "living wage" are not put out and left feeling like excrement at the bottom of the barrel of your finest IPA. Had it not been for the vastly overinflated prices of the beef sandwich, and the attitude of the bar staff, I may have left a 4-star review, however, there is a lot of work that could be done, and that will certainly have to be done, prior to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first time me n the mrs fell into this brewdog we'd been refused entry to most of the identikit 'pubs' on deansgate.(There loss as we are aging, unreconstructed boozers who really do like a pint.)Brewdog welcomed us with open arms.literally.we had the hounds in tow,and they were treated to an unnacustomed amount of fuss and attention, including treats and doggy beer!theyll be getting ideas above there station.but i dont mind because the booze is top notch.the mrs prefers a fruit based beverage(obvs)and she says the wine(and one celebratory prosseco)were delicous.we got thoroughly rat arsed.we did eat.it was great grub, but dont ask me what it was called.deep fried meat, chips and hot sauce.boozing food of the highest quality.the mrs had a sundae.she was contemplative and whistfull whilst she ate it in a way that reminded me of earlier times.she says it was lovely.we ended up staying longer than wed planned.in part because getting up seemed so disagreeable, but mostly because we were having such a good time.not sure if the 'choons'are always such a good spread of old fogey funk and punk classics, but that afternoon they suited our 'vibe' to the point where we threw caution to the wind and got the dogs there own pack of porky scratchins,to hell with the flatulent fallout.we're all friends here.eventually we had to get the train home.our bones were sore from all the 'couch boogy'.great booze, great staff,great...
