You refused to let my wife use the toilet, even after I offered to buy a starter or a drink. We were discriminated against and referred to as "strangers." At no point was I rude or raised my voice. I left quietly without causing any disruption, and I am fully within my rights to share my experience about the unpleasant and unfriendly staff at your establishment. I understand that it may be your policy to reserve restroom access for customers, but I was clearly willing to make a purchase. Despite this, your staff member—who claimed to be the owner—chose to make it a personal issue, refusing access in what felt like an unnecessary power struggle. After leaving, I called the restaurant to speak to the manager, only to be answered again by the same individual. When I tried to explain the situation and express my concerns, she abruptly hung up on me. This experience reflects a complete lack of basic customer service. Humanity should come first—denying a woman access to a restroom even when we were willing to pay is not just unreasonable, it's inhumane. I never received an apology—only a defensive justification that "it’s not policy to let non-customers use the facilities." I’m not disputing your policy; I respect it. But in this case, I was a willing customer, and the refusal of service appeared rooted in pride rather than principle.
We were treated unfairly and with a lack of compassion, and I will continue to share this...
Read moreRevisited EK’s Thai Kitchen since my friends were craving Thai food😋😍Tried a few new dishes this time:
Starters • Tofu Sam Rod – Perfectly fried beancurd, crispy on the outside and incredibly soft inside. It pairs well with the sweet chilli sauce—almost gives the impression of fish. • Gai Tod Had Yai (Thai Southern-Style Fried Chicken) – Crispy, well-coated batter without being greasy at all. • Kanom Jeeb (Thai Dumplings) – Similar to Chinese dumplings but with an addictive flavour.
Som Tum (Papaya Salad)
We asked for a spice level of 3 chilies, and even our Thai friend said it tasted super authentic.
Mains • Crispy Chicken with Chili Sauce – Amazing flavour, with a sauce that has a slight red curry taste. Perfect with rice. • Pad Kee Mao – Stir-fried beef with a nice hint of basil. The noodles had great wok hei! • (preorder)Pineapple Fried Rice – Super vibrant, with the sweetness of pineapple balancing perfectly with the aromatics in the rice.
Another solid meal—EK’s never disappoints. Definitely worth...
Read moreSaw this place driving past last week and it was packed, so I googled it and discovered it was this Thai street food restaurant which looked amazing. Read some reviews, saw their menu and emailed to book for the following week (tonight).
We were in Thailand at Christmas and if I’m honest we have struggled to find Thai food as good as Thailand before or since. Until tonight!!
Really great, small restaurant (about four tables of four people), very friendly staff. Ordered the satay, papaya salad, penang curry, a beef and basil stir fry and some veg. All were top top quality, really authentically Thai, and instantly transported back to Phuket!
We loved it so much we’re booked in for Friday!
If you’re in the area, I would really recommend, especially if you’ve visited the country and want to recreate that feeling and flavours!
Edit: we came back and had an equally brilliant meal… photos from the...
