A truly disappointing visit. I came in for a simple takeaway coffee and was shocked by how rude the staff were. After I ordered, one staff member told me to take a seat while I waited. I sat at a small, empty table. A minute later, a different employee came over and told me I had to move as the table was for sitting customers. I calmly explained that her colleague had just told me to sit there. Her response, with no apology, was a dismissive "On the bench." The interaction was embarrassing and made me feel completely unwelcome. The place itself is ridiculously small. There is no space to wait for an order without being in the way. It's so cramped there isn't even a proper spot to add sugar or a lid to your cup. To top it off, the coffee was just okay, but the price was very expensive. It was certainly not good enough to justify the cost or the horrible service. Verdict: Massively overrated. The rude attitude from the staff is enough reason to avoid this place. There are far better, friendlier, and more reasonably priced coffee shops nearby. I will not be returning and would not recommend...

Have now had two not great experiences of having to wait a long time for a simple coffee order. I appreciate the chill vibe in there but recent experience has made me not want to bother again sadly. En route to catching a train and ordered a simple Americano to take away, paid and moved to one side. The member of staff took my payment and then started talking to customer behind me who she recognised and knew, proceeded to start their coffee order instead while having a long personal conversation, finish and hand it him. Meanwhile I’m stood there as the other member of staff creates hers in order and starts taking fresh orders. I had to ask them eventually to which they replied “Sorry I thought it had already gone out.” Poor customer service and absolutely not worth the high prices either. Will stick to Cafe Nero where the staff make them efficiently in order and don’t prioritise personal conversations over a...

Amazing Sandwiches and Outstanding Service! Fort Coffee on Deansgate has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Manchester. I recently tried their A Loumi sandwich, and I can honestly say it's the best sandwich I've ever had in my life! It's a vegetarian delight—absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and massive in size, so you really get your money's worth đŸ€©

But what really sets Fort Coffee apart is the customer service. The staff are incredibly friendly, always welcoming, and they even remember customers by name, which makes the experience feel so personal. You can tell they genuinely enjoy working here, and that positivity really adds to the atmosphere. It's refreshing to walk into a place where the people clearly love what they do, and it makes you want to keep coming back😍 Highly recommend stopping by—whether for the food or the wonderful vibe, you won’t be...

Extremely disappointed in my coffee experience here. I came when it opened a few years ago and liked it and then came a few months ago and wasn’t too happy with the coffee but wanted to give it another chance. My oat flat white came out milky and seems the milk wasn’t even steamed and textured and just dumped in. Could barely taste any coffee. I only noticed this when outside after prising the lid off the cup - this coffee was so bad I would normally complain but already a small queue was formed in the shop again. My coffee was also served after a guy who came in but was friends with the staff so received his first. I won’t be coming here again unfortunately even though it looks like a nice coffee shop - hot milk for £4.30 is not worth it.

One of my all-time favourite local spaces, a super cosy spot in Deansgate perfect for any coffee lovers! They have a choice of beans you can have in your coffee and a series of filter and pour over options as well and is one of the few places in Manchester where the coffee always tastes exactly like the flavour notes! Recently they opened an in-house bakery selling some of the most unique and flavourful pastries in this part of the city (highly recommend the Key Lime Pie pastry pictured). Finally, the staff are super sweet and always create a happy and bubbly atmosphere unlike some local spots around and service is always super quick so even when it's a busy weekend day, you never end up waiting long for a takeaway or a table!
