Ginger & Berry — Restaurant in Manchester

Unexpected gem! My partner and I popped in for a snack and were greeted by a friendly staff member and SO many food options - street snacks, burgers, curry, chicken, all day breakfasts, waffles, cake, milkshakes...to name a few. We decided on pre-dinner dessert and got the Ferrero Magical Day waffle, biscoff cake, a milk tea, and a strawberry cooler drink. From a place with so many options and so inexpensive, we didn't expect the taste, presentation, and care that we got. The tea was served immediately because they have it ready in a heated dispenser - it was delicious; sweet and spiced. It took only a few mins for our cake and cold drink to arrive - great cake and delicious drink with fresh strawberries and mint - and a few more minutes for the waffle since it was made fresh and presented beautifully, with fresh strawberries, melted chocolate, flakes, cream, and ice cream. It was also huge! As we finished our food, one of the staff came to ask about our experience and told us they pride themselves on making everything fresh. It certainly pays off - the waffle may be the best quality one we've had! We'll be back soon to try more...

Not sure how this place has so many 5 star reviews but unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. I ordered the chicken panini which included processed chicken pieces, hardly any sauce/salad and no cheese so it was completely dry. My sister ordered the breakfast which was okay but came in a cardboard box, I'm not sure why. We also ordered a chicken burger which was dripping in oil and cheese nachos which were completely soggy at the bottom. The prices are cheap so I suppose you get what you pay for. The best things we ordered were the hot drinks, the latte was really nice which is one of the reasons why I haven't given the place 1 star. The other reason is because the gentleman that served us was really polite and helpful. We didn't have time to complain there and then or change the order as we had to get to an event...

We had a truly memorable dining experience here as a family. What impressed us most was that the restaurant was operated by a single staff member — managing everything from taking orders to preparing our meals — and still delivered outstanding service with warmth and efficiency.

Despite working alone, they prepared a meal that was not only delicious but thoughtfully presented, with clear attention to detail and flavor. Every dish came out fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of heart. It’s rare to see someone handle such responsibility so gracefully, without compromising on quality or hospitality.

We left with full stomachs and deep appreciation. Highly recommended — a testament to what passion and dedication...
