This is my second time doing the Rum Experience - loved it first time so much I bought new friends back! They’ve upgraded the distillery and it now takes place upstairs in a lovely mezzanine area that gives it a much more cosy environment. Much like being in a snug of a pub! They go through the history of rum as well as Salford Rum, while you get to sample lots of their rum and a few cocktails. So educational while you get tipsy! If you’ve never tried Salford Rum it’s so nice compared to your off the shelf rubbish like Cpt Mrgns - this is a great way to sample it and you get a discount on the bottles when you decide which one is your favourite - that’s the hardest part! 100% recommend doing the rum experience. Me and my partner loved it, was so much fun. The women running the experience (so sorry, I can't remember your names 🙈), they were amazing, the drinks were great as well. I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and was expecting to have to pay for separate drinks than what was included cos obviously I can't have alcohol, but instead they offered to make me mocktails, which I gladly accepted. I’ve tried Salford rum for many years. The spiced rum is my favourite and prefer neat as to me it ruins the taste when mixed. The new Cherry Rum is unbelievably good and tastes of cherries and almonds. Wow!!!! I have bought for presents over many years for my adult children and Brother. Forget anyone else’s rum. You will find a perfect rum as a present here or for you. My Daughter and Son in law went on the rum experience in Salford Quays and loved it.
