Lock 91 — Restaurant in Manchester

We held our wedding reception at Lock 91 a few weeks ago and we could not have picked a better place. Both Andi and Jacob did everything they could to make sure our day was everything we wanted.

We wanted a very relaxed non-traditional wedding and every single one of our guests absolutely loved the venue. We turned up from our ceremony and had welcome drinks of beer and Prosecco split between the bottom and middle floor. We used their music till later on which we describe below.

We used the catering company recommended by the venue and had a BBQ served on the terrace which was perfect. We brought our own cakes for later on and the staff were very helpful in putting them all out.

We then used the attic space for our evening with plenty of space for a band, speeches and dance floor. All of the Lock 91 staff were very helpful and we would fully recommend this venue for any party. Alongside our band Lock 91 provided a DJ to play between sets and after until the end of the night. Gav was great, he asked us to provide a list of artists and genres and he definitely did a great job.

My wedding reception was held here, if you're looking for a rustic style venue in the city centre - this is an excellent choice. We had the outdoor terrace/an inside room/bar/toilets all private for our party. Its nicely decorated so not much need to worry about decorating too much. Alex was very helpful all night, as were the 2 bartenders. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us all comfortable. However this is not 5 stars for a reason - We were told we could only use their caterers, so I waited months until they had arranged their caterer to then have the caterer cancel less than 4 weeks before my wedding. I understand this is not directly Lock91s fault but the manager Andi handled it terribly. He offered no apology or alternatives and said I should find something myself and cover all costs which would have been far more than we were originally paying. I manage a restaurant where we regularly host events so we we were able to have our meal there thankfully or my wedding would have been ruined. I suggest Lock91 look in to how some managers are interacting with customer's, as it was amazing...

We held our post wedding party at Lock-91 and it was awesome!

In the run up to the event Cherish was fantastic offering advice and as many pre-party meetings with us as we wanted. She liaised with our band, DJ, caterers and cake maker directly and made sure that everything came together and ran smoothly. We hosted 150 guests and hired the attic, reception bar and parlour which had ample space. All staff were amazing throughout the night and couldn’t do enough for us.

We hired the in-house DJ (Lee) who was friendly, fun and professional. He played the music we asked for and added tunes in-keeping with our tastes. We were dancing until 2am!

Circle events catered our party. The food was top quality and enjoyed by all our guests. It was clear they had a lot of experience catering Lock-91 as a venue as they ran very efficiently.
