How not to deal with customer complaints: Warning worst case of customer service
Extremely rude staff who responded on social media in a condescending and patronising manner by lying (look up my thai manchester facebook)
Recently visited MyThai restaurant in Manchester with friends for late evening meal, the restaurant was not busy. There were 3 members of staff including management.
The service was inadequate: • We had to ask the waiter for things several times and we could sense his frustration. • Our requests were not out of the ordinary, the table was not set up we had to ask for napkins, cutlery and water- all of which are basic necessities of any establishment. • I asked for cups with ice- waiter brought cups no ice but we felt we could ask him for the ice due to demeanour at the other basic requests. • They forgot to bring another portion of chicken satays for the starter. Each portion had 2 skewers, instead of admitting fault with forgetting the order, they claimed the other portion was still being cooked. But surely an establishment is catered for busy periods can cook more 2 skewers at a time. • They didn’t tell us something was sold out until 30 minutes after • Said they will send me a receipt but have not received anything (9 days overdue)
The food was mediocre: • 1 rice dish had clumps of rice • 1 noodle dish was far too saucy and salty • The steamed dumplings was too sweet
Handling Customer’s negative feedback • Rude and patronising response instead of looking this as an opportunity to resolve issues they only made themselves look like unprofessional. So much that, they deleted their comments on facebook. Luckily I have saved the screen shot for all to see. • Instead of just apologising and addressing the issues professionally, they deflect every negative with sarcasm in a...

Service - 3/5 (Our waitress was friendly enough. However, there was an obvious language barrier- when we tried explaining to her that our main courses were way too salty. (This feedback was interpreted to mean "too spicy")
Drinks- 5/5 - 2x very nice bottled tiger beers. No complaints
Fried prawns- 4/5-
Garlic and Pepper Ribs - 3/5. Definitely edible- however they were not what I expected. In short- these ribs were fried- which resulted in the meat being very dry and tough. The accompanying sauce- served in a small dish- was not to my personal tastes. However I could not say that there was anything strictly "wrong" with the sauce.
Green Curry- 1/5. I'm honestly not sure how this went so wrong. The good- the curry did actually look green. The bad: the chicken was tough and inedible, The sauce was way too thick. It more closely resembled the thickness of an Indian curry, It was SO salty. (If I was to make a silly joke... I'd suggest: that the chef mistook "sea water" to be "coconut milk"
Penang curry- 1/5. (See all of the same feedback relating to the green curry above)
In short- this is my first ever review under 3 stars! THE FOOD REALLY WAS THAT BAD- and due to the language barrier- I felt that I was unable to provide adequate feedback to the waitress/owner (which I would have preferred to have done- instead of leaving such a negative review)
-We both finished our starters- -Unlike other reviews- we would not not describe our experience with the waitress "as rude". Instead- we would just point out that there was an obvious language barrier. -The main courses were simply awful- -This disaster of a meal cost approximately £32- and we immediately went to another restaurant up the streets... to reorder a main course- which we...
Read moreWORST FOOD AND SERVICE IN MANCHESTER Me and my family have had the worst experience here, no idea why there are positive reviews here. Food was INEDIBLE. Avoid this place at all cost lol The Thai iced tea was way too sweet, which the server (who claimed to be the owner) said it is completely normal and that’s the way they’ve been doing it for 8 years so she refused to change it. Instead she gave me water to water it down myself in the worst attitude. The food came and it just got progressively worse. The tamarind duck was way too sweet, the meat was unusually dry. The only way to describe it is like it has been cooked and left to dry out for days. The spicy pork stir fry was so salty. All the jasmine rice we had were hard to chew, clearly undercooked. We were obviously unhappy but the owner wanted to pretend everything was fine and proceeded to collect all the dishes without asking us whether the food was okay. When we spoke up about it, she did not care and insisted that it is normal, and that it is the way it should taste. It is for sure not authentic Thai food as it claims to be. The server was so so rude and tried to SNATCH CASH OFF OUR HANDS when we were checking the bill. When I told her to stop, she called me rude, classic gaslighting. Honestly the worst food and service ever in Manchester. It used to be a decent restaurant, not sure what has happened to it. We should’ve clocked on when we saw 0 customer in...
