We visited Salut to celebrate my partners 30th birthday and the experience and service from the moment we entered till we left was beyond compare: an absolutely fantastic way to celebrate with a group of friends.
Upon our arrival Nick explained how the system worked and got us set up with a card, we ordered some food and my partner was given a glass of fizz in honour of his birthday which was a wonderful touch.
The wines available are very carefully chosen and the system itself is easy to use, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and were always available to discuss particular likes and dislikes as well as make recommendations. The attention to detail was spot on throughout our time here, from the water being served and topped up, no empty glasses were left on the table too long and the staff enquiring about the wines we were having didn't feel intrusive, merely that they were taking a keen interest and were genuinely passionate, which only added to the experience. The food was delicious and just enough to keep us going until our evening meal, very fresh and tasty.
There are many bars/restaurants in Manchester, some far more established, however give Salut a try as you won't be disappointed. The amount of thought that goes into every aspect and interaction with their customers is a refreshing experience in itself. The wines are very carefully chosen, the food delicious, the staff knowledgeable and friendly.
Big thanks to Nick and the guys here, we can honestly say that this really kicked off the birthday celebrations in style. We'll be going...

My experience at Salut Wines was incredibly disappointing. I accidentally left my wine card in the wine machine and when I went back, it was already gone. You’d think they’d have a better system in place for misplaced cards, but instead, the manager, Georgie, was downright rude and dismissive. She was argumentative from the start and demanded I pay £40 for two small very average glasses of wine in front of everyone else in the bar.
When I asked if she could check the CCTV to see who took it, she flat-out refused. I asked to speak to someone else in management, and with a smug grin, she told me she was the manager, immediately shutting down the conversation.
Her attitude was not just unhelpful—it was condescending and humiliating. One staff member even looked visibly shocked by Georgie’s lack of empathy, but no one stepped in to offer any support. I’ve never felt so embarrassed in a bar before. Just be very careful - if you misplace your wine card after a couple of drinks, it will cost you £40 - it’s a money making scheme. The Wines aren’t even cold either.
There are much better wine bars in Manchester, like Griffin, Reserve, and The Epicerie, where you’ll actually be treated with respect and enjoy a much more...
Read moreBooked this for my mother’s birthday as we LOVE a similar wine bar in didsbury and thought this would be the same. Sat down and asked if we could have a card for the wine machines. It took 15 mins for our waiter to bring the card over and for us to be able to go and get some wine. When we went to the machines nobody explained how the machines worked and a large amount of the bottles were empty. We asked some of the staff members at the front bar area if they could be replaced and they said that ‘someone on that section would get to it’ and continued to carry on chatting away to eachother. We then had to ask them again as 10 mins went by with us staring at the machines waiting for them to be replaced. Eventually the person in charge of changing the bottles came over and struggled to replace them as it was his first day. Other members of staff stood by and let him struggle and we still were without a drink! When we did eventually get a drink the wines were enjoyable but the whole experience was tainted due to it being so hard to even get a...
