Dining Experience @ The Waterhouse JD Wetherspoon. . As a chain pub, The Waterhouse JD Wetherspoon is known for its large standardised menu available all day, with good value for money dishes. It's also the only large-scale pub brand to operate during breakfast. . Ambience is cozy and warm. The tight corridors lead into small dining rooms, which are medium-lit. Aging wooden furnishings, faded carpets, and a non-digital feel, lend character. . Service is partially self-service, with ordering and payment over the counter, as the online system doesn't work. Staff will serve orders to your table, but cleaning up is leisurely done, just as well they have ample seats. . Food is low-cost pub grub, most passably edible to above average in quality. Portions are large for individuals, offering good value for money. Prices are affordable, budget about GBP £16 per person. . The Beer Coors Light (GBP £4.18) is a refreshing yet light brew, good only for easy-drinking or the young. . Their rendition of Fish And Chips (GBP £10.82) features a large boneless fillet of lean flaky moist atlantic cod fish, coated in a crisp golden batter. Has a lovely gentle sweet savoury flavour. . I added salt and malt vinegar, for added sour salty kick. The thick cut English potato chips had starchy salty savoury flavour, while the gooey mushy peas had vegetal grassy earthy sweet flavour. Very happy with this.

Shoddy service, staff with attitude, basic menu items out of stock, tatty & sticky furniture, dirty floors and tacky carpets. A few weeks ago we came into take advantage of the weekend brunch offer. The bar staff were unable to tell us what the prices were without the drinks. We finally ordered two different eggs benedict dishes and sat down at our table. After 10 minutes were were informed the kitchen had run out of eggs - a basic ingredient - even though there is a Tesco Express next door that could be used for emergencies. We were told we could order any other breakfast - even though there were no eggs. Unbelievable. The supervisor serving us had a major attitude problem and spoke to us as if it was our fault there was an issue with having no eggs in the kitchen. We asked for a refund and to add insult to injury we were given our money back in little piles of the smallest change the supervisor could find!! The staff at The Waterhouse are certainly doing their best to give Wetherspoons in Manchester a bad name and this experience put us off going to any others in The Group during our week long stay in the city.

Cane here for brunch as we had missed the cut off for breakfast. I went to bar at 1130 was told there was a wait of about half hour for food. No issue at all they were busy, I ordered ham and eggs minus the chips, my friend ordered all day brunch. It came but mine had no eggs but chips and so I asked for the eggs to be put on and chips removed. It came back three mins later with 2 eggs but they had clearly been cooked a while and the yolks were cooked through, the hame was wafer thin and two slices. It was extremely disappointing.

My friend and I were in Manchester for the weekend and we wanted a place for a late breakfast. Found this little place. Decor is like the typical pub/bar. You had to use the app or walk to the bar to order but there was no one to let us know this (it took us a while to figure it out). Food came in about 10 minutes after ordering. Unfortunately, my poached eggs were fully cooked, which was disappointing. Overall, it's a good place to sit down and grab some food while you are in Manchester city centre.

I always loved this place, however I wasn't impressed with it today. It was quite busy inside. Our table that we managed to find at the end was dirty. I asked for kids menu but was told at the bar kids meals are in a normal menu. Couldn't find any kids meals in a normal menu. Ordered chicken and bacon cheese panini and chips. Food arrived promptly. I enjoyed chips, panini bread was nice. I ended up eating a few chips, toasted bacon and cheese. Toilets were some what clean, which always a must.

Very popular Spoons opposite the side of the Town Hall. A small outside seating area. Multiple rooms to left and right with further seating to the rear. ( Often only spare seats left.) Good real ale selection. Note more hand pumps hidden behind column on left side. For some reason customers tend to form a queue for service so queue cutters like Martin Meerkat beware. Toilets upstairs. ( Wheelchair access through back of pub, steep steps at front.) Food always popular.
