A nice European-style coffee shop, located opposite of the Manchester Art Gallery. Almost as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by staff, who welcome you and advise to take a seat a table, unless all you want is a quick takeaway coffee. There is a lot of space inside the coffee house. The ground floor accommodates plenty of seating in a form of armchairs and benches. There is also a mezzanine floor, where you will find more tables. Only the ground floor can be accessed by a wheelchair or with a stroller. Toilets are located on the ground floor. The Vienna Coffee House has a great atmosphere. It feels cosy and warm throughout the café, with lots of natural light coming from large windows, quiet "coffee house" music playing from the speakers. They also showcase many art pieces from a local artist on both floors. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Make sure they got your order correctly. The service was prompt and professional. I ordered Viennese Coffee (Einspanner) and a slice of the Belgian Chocolate Fudge Cake. The coffee, which basically is a double mocha with whipped cream was pretty good. I am not sure if I would order it once again (as I found it very sweet), but it is an interesting alternative to hot chocolate. The cake was nice, but simple in terms of flavour and texture. I think adding some berries or salted caramel filling would improve it drastically. The prices for both were above the average of the city centre. The menu here is very generous. There lots of options for a quick meal and a drink. The price of afternoon tea looks like a real deal. Overall, I think The Vienna Coffee House is great spot if you want to relax and enjoy your time, without paying any attention for the time. So, grab a book, a coffee, some food and enjoy some time for yourself.

I popped in here spontaneously for a late breakfast when visiting Manchester and seeing that Viennese style coffee was offered. I have fond memories of the coffee shops in Vienna, so I had to give it a try. I had a salmon and cream cheese bagel (not explicitly on the menu, but other variations were, and there didn't seem to be any issue) and a melange coffee. My only point for improvement would be that smoked salmon should be seasoned - some cracked black pepper, dill, chives, lemon, etc. would have elevated it. My melange coffee was very nice and I would recommend trying it. The chocolate flakes on top weren't traditional, but I don't object to it! My companion had a lighter breakfast option of a cappuccino and a croissant with jam. The croissant was very nice and she liked having the miniature jar of jam that it came with. Staff were friendly and polite, cafe tidy and clean, bathroom was modern and clean. The cafe had a bit of a Skandi feel to it as well and I liked the photography on the walls. Prices were pretty reasonable. I'd definitely come back here and try another Viennese coffee option. Would love to also try some strudel here if it's available!

Prelude: After a visit to the art gallery opposite, decided to pop in for a pick-me-up. Contrary to popular perceptions about eateries in the direct proximity to museums etc., this place is far from a tourist trap! Staff: Warmly welcoming and offered to talk me through recommend options for coffee. Chose the eponymous Venetian coffee with a cheery twist, absolutely delicious! Bit like a cross between vintage milkshake and espresso, but not so creamy that it reduces the caffeine punch. Greatly encouraged by the quality of my drink, I ordered a chicken salad, which was freshly prepared with appetising sauce on side. Portion was HUGE! The chicken was lovely roasted, with tomatoes and peppers properly sorted. Not a fan of ‘raw’ looking salads so it was definitely 100% for me. Atmosphere: Modern pastiches of artworks on the wall, nothing special to look at but suits the vibe from the gallery just fine. Conclusion: Would come back next time in town, count on that! PS No filters on the food; would spoil the originality amazing look otherwise 😋

Open for service in Just Eat but not actually taking orders just your money. It will be refunded in 10 days but no apology for the inconvenience just ‘we don’t work with just eat any more’ and ‘it would be better if you would order through Deliveroo’ What so you can take more of my money and not send me any food? I know that you have to activate Just Eat every day to take orders so this means that they did this entirely on purpose. Zero customer service and zero food. Disgusting treatment of customers

The owner just called me to tell me off for leaving a 1 star review. She states that the member of the team was correct in stating that they no longer work with Just Eat..... if that’s true how did she get my phone number????? How dare someone call me and tell me off?? Disgusting and disgraceful

If you have an issue with a review then respond through the proper channels - do not call the customer to tell them off!!!! Disgrace and I will be checking to see if this is illegal as I think it is a breach of privacy and data protection.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER:

You called because you received a review you didn’t like. You were contemptuous and annoyed and your sole intention was tell your customer that they were wrong. Was it my fault your restaurant was open on Just-Eat? My fault I’m £30 out of pocket for 10 days? Or is that between you and Just-Eat? So why did you and your staff tell me it was not your problem? You may not have been taking the money intentionally but your customer service skills are non-existent and this has clearly been passed on to your staff. All anybody needed to do was apologise and take some ownership for the mistake but you were only bothered about absolving yourself of any responsibility. Having read your responses to other negative reviews this seems to be typical, accept no responsibility and blame the customer. Invest in some customer service training for you and your staff, you might find your...

I have never written a review in my entire life but I couldn’t overlook the way I was treated today. I always come here for breakfast and the usual staff that serves me is absolutely lovely. It’s a Tuesday morning, around 10 am and the place is almost empty. I walk in and sit at a fairly bigger table because all the small ones are occupied, apart from the one in the middle of the room. I am not even greeted but ignored for several minutes by the asian lady at the bar who keeps looking at me in a odd way. Finally a young tall guy comes over to my table to ask me if I am eating alone and then asks me to move to a different table. I was shocked by his attitude and his question because as I said most of the tables were available including the upstairs area. I kindly accept to move and he suggests the awkward little table from the middle of the room. I ask if I could sit back to where I initially sat as I am going to be quick and he declines. I disappointedly say that I am going to leave and his response was “ok” in a very rude way. The stigma with which I felt treated for being a young 22 years old student was sickening. I have been visiting this place for over two years and as I said, no staff ever came across as abrupt and discriminating as these two employees today. Had he given me a reason why I couldn’t sit at that table or even apologised for the inconvenience, I would have never written this review. I have been working as a receptionist in customer services industry for years and that isn’t a professional behaviour in any circumstances. They clearly do not understand the notion of customer service and nor do they seem to care about the business’s image. As I walked out I told them that this was a very rude way of dealing with a customer and the lady behind the bar smirked at me...
