To start, I have been salvis many times before having the same food and came today as a treat as we really loved it on our previous visits however we have left very disappointed. Today's food was quite something else, we both had the octopus and nduja pasta and i honestly could've made better myself with ingredients from aldi as the quality was shocking. The octopus although albeit usually a little chewy was dry and tasteless. I've had this dish every time I've been before and it was nothing alike what I have usually had. If you had gave me this and asked me where it was from I wouldn't have even said it was from the same resturant. For £17.50 hardly had any pasta, and the pasta used is not what was the same in the past, usually it is large tubes (old picture no 3 attached.) The sauce tasted like tinned tomatoes i wouldn't even say there was salt or pepper on it, there was no nduja present at all or any taste for that matter. The tomatoes that I could see in it weren't cooked. I must say the starter was fine taste wise however for £30 was a rip off. I looked at others pictures of this and can see bread included but we had nothing of the sort. The service again was not great, although the staff were polite when taking our order. We had water glasses on the table with no water offered, with the starter no side plates were brought and no parmasan offered with the mains. I wouldn't recommend, not sure how they stay open and charge the prices they do as it was extremely poor. I get the impression they are trying to cut corners and costs whilst charging the same. I am so gutted as we were looking forward to this for weeks!

This place is amazing if you come on off peak times. More expensive than common chains but better food. Cramped restaurant but amazing service. Location : this restaurant can be found opposite the train station inbetween two other restaurants. It has a red sign outside. When you go in, it looks like an Italian deli (where they have a lovely selection big nibbles to buy), But go right to the back and there will be stairs that lead down. Be careful as it might be steep. At the bottom you'll be able to wait for a table. It's nice a and cosy but can be cramped at popular times. Food is great. Brilliant pizza and pasta. We recommend the pizza balls. Light , tangy and tasty. Rlveey good portions aswell and great selection of side dishes and main. Service was speedy and helpful. The staff are attentive and friendly. The decor style is romantic, rustic and cosy. Chairs are small and fragile but tables are solid and stable. Overall I recommend coming here as you get a deli and a restaurant in one building. It's authentic in style and food wise it's delicious served my nice staff. Come early as this place is very busy especially in Saturday evenings 9/10

Dinner with friends, catching up after a long time. Needed a place with great food options and lovely atmosphere to spend the time. One of our friends mentioned this place and made reservations. We reached the place. Our table was ready and we were seated. We were made to order our drinks and starters. I personally don't drink but my friends ordered the house wine, one red and one white. They mentioned it was too good. We ordered several starters the best ones are the calamari and the mozzarella cheese. I asked recommendations for the main from the waiter and he suggested me the Pasta Al Mare which is the best seafood pasta. All the food was incredible. But service was a big let down. We had to ask several times to get water on the table. The food takes a long time to be served, but that could be forgiven. My friend's pasta was undercooked (I'm willing to forgive it assuming it doesn't happen often). But the highlight of the entire dinner was the desserts. The tiramisu stole my heart. Would come back again to try more on the menu

we booked a table at this restaurant for a date after hearing some good reviews. we had a booking for 15:45 and I rang the restaurant to inform them that we would be 5-10 mins late due to train delays. No issues there... Arrived at the restaurant and was seated within 5 minutes. we ordered our food and drinks after a short wait. not long after the drinks arrived, our starters arrived. As we were eating our starters a waitress came along with our mains and tried to clear our starters whilst we were still eating, waitress ended up having to put our mains down on the table alongside our starters. not too long after, the waitress came back over to take our starter plates, I had finished mine but my date had not finished his. we continued to eat our mains and when we had finished with those the waiter asked us if we would like to look at a dessert menu to which we said we would. after we had waited what had seemed an unreasonable amount of time, the waiter eventually realised they had not given us our menus and brought them over.

I was first to finish my dessert and the manager came over and tried to clear our plates, he took mine and tried to take my dates, but then realised he was still eating. after this, I and my date felt like the staff couldn't handle how busy the restaurant was. we continued to drink our drinks and unexpectedly the waitress came over and gave us our bill to our surprise. Still finishing our drinks the manager came over and requested that we leave our table and pay our bill as they needed the table for the next guests... this came as a huge shock to me as I had not yet even finished my wine. we went to the bar and the barman took our payment didn't even engage in conversation with us, we just had to pay and leave.

I am actually a restaurant manager myself and have worked in the hospitality sector for many years, this level of disregard for the customer's experience is shocking, especially on an occasion such as a date. I will not...

pathetic service! went for my wifes birthday for a large table of 14. the table we was given felt very cramped and squashed and because it was located next to the kitchen directly next to the pizza oven it felt v v v warm. Not once throught the meal did any waiting staff check to see if we was okay. food itself although edible I tasted like your bog standard italian chain style food. nothing special. the original one on john dalton street much much better. my wifes risotto tasted v bland and rice too al dente. The reason why I have given a 1 star . my wifes birthday cake!. i paid £50 for that cake. the waitress did cut the cake for us. but what I recieved back in the box. looked like it was chucked and mashed up. the left over cake we was planning on giving to our friends was totally ruined! I felt insulted that the waitress or kitchen staff would ruin someones birthday cake like that and hand it back with so little respect. You charged £31 for service. but The karma for us is, your waitress forgot ti put a £25 bottle of wine on our bill, the reason why I didnt say anything was because of the way your staff would insultingly throw my wifes birthday cake back into our box. thats karma for you and the reason why I would never choose to dine with you again. you have lost our custom not throught your mediocre food, but lack of basic manners when...
