I have only given a four star rating as I have only had a drink here, not eaten. I am writing this mainly to say that the new manager who has only recently taken over, was very helpful when I called him about a parking fine I had got from Premier Parking who own the car park next to the pub. I need to say now, that it turned out to be me at fault, simply because I thought I had paid for three hours parking, but had in fact, only paid for two.
The pub, quite generously, refund your parking money if you hand your ticket in when you buy a drink/order a meal, but the parking is not anything to do with the pub, so, make sure you pay for plenty of time, or you will get a fine as it's under CCTV.
My point here is, when I got the £100 fine in the post, I was shocked and called the pub in panic. The new manager could have been blunt, but he was the opposite and took the time to explain how the system works between car park and pub.
I will go back here, mainly because of his patience and good attitude. So I'd like to publicly thank him (I didn't get a name, unfortunately, but he will know who he is!).
Next time I'll eat and pay the maximum time on...
Read moreI booked a table for 10 on a Saturday night & instead of getting one table, we got two separate ones, bit of an inconvenience but I can live with that… no worries. I then went to order food, baring in mind half the menu is burgers, you would’ve thought that they had all the ingredients to make them.. no. They had no buns. When I asked the Blonde lady behind the bar what she could do about the issue, I received the dirtiest look & no bother to help resolve the problem. The young brunette girl behind the bar had the worst attitude problem. She was passing out evil looks to customers all evening, waving her arms about when there was a problem and clearly only wanted to serve regulars. The uniform there is disgraceful, I’d like to eat my burger (with no bun) without having to see cleavage in my face, if I wanted to see that sort of thing, I would’ve gone to hooters. A change of barmaids is needed immediately, apart from all the...
Read moreThe Railway Pub in East Grinstead has seriously stepped up its game, thanks to a new chef who’s completely turned the place around. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s time to give it another go—because the food is next level.
First off, the Buffalo Chicken Burger is a beast. Crispy, juicy chicken absolutely drenched in buffalo sauce, with just the right mix of spice and tang. Add in a toasted brioche bun, fresh toppings, and a killer blue cheese dressing, and you’ve got yourself a proper burger that hits the spot every time.
Then there’s the Sticky Toffee Pudding—easily one of the best I’ve had. Soft, rich sponge cake soaked in warm toffee sauce, with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it. Pure dessert heaven.
With the new chef in charge, the whole menu has had a serious glow-up. Whether you’re after a proper meal or just some top-tier pub food, The Railway Pub is smashing it right now. Highly recommend...
