KFC — Restaurant in Mid Sussex

I think this is the worst KFC I have ever used.

I have eaten KFC across many restaurants both in the UK and abroad, however this restaurant genuinely stands alone, and I mean this is worse than a KFC in the USA that made me and my friends physically sick…

To clarify, I am reviewing this ‘restaurant’ based on orders that my partner and I have made from the KFC app as well as the JustEat app, delivered.

On multiple occasions now the restaurant have missed things off the order. For example; one time they missed two entire burgers off - from the JustEat exclusive “2 Fillet Burgers & 2 Signature Fries for £10” deal - I got the fries but no burgers - there was only 1 other thing on the order so how can they miss off the burgers? ….. the key part of the meal!?

The Rice Box with an extra Zinger fillet (for extra money) came with only 1 chicken fillet! So I was left feeling ripped off, additionally there was little to no sauce included. Two key parts of the meal missing… things I PAID for…

A Fillet burger I once ordered had a rock solid bun, and I mean as if it had been sat for hours under the hot plate. I could crumble it in my hands as if it was sand. Not appetising at all - not a soft bread bun like I have had from other KFCs. To make things worse though, inside the bun was Ketchup! Where was the Mayo and Lettuce that makes it a Fillet Burger? …it isn’t meant to have ketchup! - even I know that and I don’t work there!

I have had drinks missing from delivery orders too. Say no more on that… pretty self explanatory.

Also it is frequently ridiculously long wait times - I once waited 2 hours for my order off the KFC app, when it arrived it was stone cold! I complained to get a refund but had to microwave it to reheat the food so as to not waste it!

To anyone considering using this KFC - Please do yourselves a favour and go to the Burgess Hill KFC instead. It’s loads better than Haywards Heath and only up the road. There is a bus that will take you from where the Haywards Heath one is, to Burgess Hill (in case you can’t drive) - it’s worth the trip. As a Haywards Heath resident - I will be going to Burgess Hill instead from now.

I kept giving the Haywards Heath KFC the benefit of doubt, hoping they would get their act together and improve… but EVERY time I am left disappointed, feeling ripped off and like I have wasted my choice of takeaway treat. It’s a shame as it’s is my nearest but I will never use it again.

Please - everyone… Steer clear of this KFC as it really is genuinely terrible!...

Where do I begin.. ??

The young gentleman that was attempting to serve customers came across very inexperienced or just a lacking enthusiasm, having to repeat my order 3 times to ensure said gentleman interpreted it correctly was slightly concerning as was the need for the staff member to have to ask a colleague for advice on how to find items on his till.

I waited slightly longer than I would have expected and had to question a staff member if my order was coming as several other customers who had made larger orders after me but had recieved their order.

Once receiving my order and beginning to dine; I was overcome by the taste of soap/washing agent in the chicken mini fillets and the feeling of bubbles in my mouth like a rabid animal!! The popcorn chicken had clearly been sitting around for a while indicated by its likeness to boot-leather!!

Overall it was a very disappointed with the experience from this particular KFC restuarant, I would have given no stars if that was an option;therefore I wouldn't return or...

The staff at this branch seemed very stretched and looked as though they were struggling with the work load they had. The food wasn't very hot when we ate it and we ate in so I wouldn't have wanted to think what it would have been like if we had taken it home with us. The staff didn't deal with youths in the branch very well either rather than politely speaking to them they shouted at them from the kitchen into the seating area which wasn't necessary and created a horrible atmosphere. There was also an issue of them not having enough chicken and some people being told it was a 20min wait for food after their order was taken and then having the ordeal of giving them a refund. Overall I think the branch was very understaffed leading to all of these issues but it has put us off returning...
