I ordered a takeaway this evening, I've eaten in house before several years ago now, but stopped going due to the continuous rudeness from certain members of staff and poor service, then they started adding a service charge for the pleasure! I have had issues in the past because the sauces all tasted more or less the same, which I pointed out to them ie, Dansak and a Masala, no difference. This time I ordered a Butter Chicken, Kema Nan and Sheek Kebab with Rice, Sheek Kebab was nice if not a bit dry, the Butter Chicken was watery, and tasted and looked like tomato soup, which I am certain thats what it was, straight out of a tin and I will challenge them to prove otherwise!!! The Kema Nan was a disgrace, there was no meat in it as you can see from the image, a pathetic sprinkling of something but not how it should be. They did not provide any complementary popadoms despite the £27.00 bill!! It has been very challenging finding a decent, reputable, good value and authentic Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant anywhere in Milton Keynes, I've tried, there are none! Maaya is most definitely not authentic Indian cuisine, I've eaten in many Indian restaurant's and had authentic home cooked Indian food, this place is a million miles away from authentic. Like all of them in Milton Keynes, they are a long way off of producing decent food. The standard has definitely gone down to what it was 4 to 5 years ago. If I could give a zero score I would. There looks to be fake reviews on here, they are easy to spot. This place is beyond awful and I will not have food from there again, it was a stark reminder of one if the reasons I stopped going years ago. Back to my search for good Indian food, I mean GREAT Indian/Bangladeshi food!! I won't hold my breath!

****warning!!! The major downfall that I noticed when I got home to look at the receipt was that I did not get the 25% off my total bill.At the restaurant itself, when the bill arrived I did not bother to calculate it because we were rushing for our next appointment. However I did ask the staff in the counter if this bill is after my 25% Gourmet Society and he confident told me that the 25% off the bill has been applied. This is very annoying because I’m annoyed at myself for not noticing it in the restaurant itself and for the staff lying straight at my face that’s why this will be my first and last time visiting Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar hence the low rating. And the funniest part is I was telling my partner that they did not even scan my gourmet society card for the discount whilst we were leaving😂💀I would be extra careful when making booking from the Gourmet Society app.*** We found this restaurant from Gourmet Society and made booking via phone call. The restaurant is nicely decorated with dark blue walls and decoration. We ordered Punjab samosa chaat, poppadomms and Tandoori Chicken for starters. Both of them were outstanding, only wished the chaat was more spicy. For the mains we ordered the Maaya Specila Thali and Lachcha paratha for main, we shared the Thali because the portion was humongous.Everything in the thali was 10/10, Incant recommend it enough. And for the drinks we got Coke Zero and Aspall cider, can’t go wrong with them.

I have been to this place with my friends, the staff assisting us was too rude. More than food a person visit the place for the hospitality but it wasn’t a good experience Coming on food it’s way too expensive for the quantity served Starter : tandoori king prawns (the quantity of starter does not matched to price nor the taste of it) Chilli Paneer/cottage cheese : as seen in the picture it contained only veggies and chilli flakes without any panner in it and no other flavours ( the dish was supposed to contain paneer but it’s unfortunate to eat only veggies) Main course - The butter Naan didn’t have any butter spread and wasn’t even baked to term it as proper Naan The curries ordered were requested to make spicy and the response we get from the representative is that he can get some green chillies on side… the response was so rude and offensive in that case he can serve a bowl of sugar and green chilies to eat any savoury dish It lacked the basic ingredient of salt which we had to add from our end in all the main course curry ordered So going forward that’s not a option for me or my friends to visit Maya again These are individual view and opinion Others view are always respected

My recent visit to Maaya left me utterly disappointed and compelled me to share my experience, which was marred by the appalling behavior of the staff. I cannot express how disheartened I felt due to their disrespectful and demeaning attitude.

We were a group of 14 adults who arrived at the restaurant with high hopes. Unfortunately, right from the beginning, we were met with an unwelcoming tone and attitude from the person taking our orders. It was clear that they did not make us feel valued as customers.

To add to our dismay, the person serving our table insisted that we choose a set menu, despite our preferences and appetites suggesting otherwise. We politely declined and decided to go for an à la carte option. However, the staff member seemed displeased with our decision and started using condescending statements such as "I think you are having a hard time understanding" and "I think you are not understanding, that's why you are asking me again." It was a demeaning experience that left us wondering whether their intent was to intimidate or force us into ordering a specific quantity of food. Their behavior lacked professionalism and respect.

The rude conduct of the staff completely overshadowed any positive aspects of Maaya. A restaurant should prioritize providing excellent hospitality, but unfortunately, this was not the case. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism in an establishment that should be focused on creating a pleasant environment for its guests.

Based on my experience, I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before dining at Maaya. It is crucial for the management to address the ongoing issue of disrespectful staff behavior. Surprisingly, numerous other reviews below mine also highlight this exact problem of impolite behavior from the staff. This indicates a recurring issue that needs immediate attention.

As customers, we deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy. It is my hope that Maaya takes this feedback seriously and implements appropriate measures to rectify the behavior of their staff. Until this issue is resolved, I suggest exploring alternative dining options that prioritize customer satisfaction and provide a welcoming atmosphere.

My sincere intention in sharing this review is to contribute to positive change and help create a more respectful and enjoyable dining experience for future...

I was excited to eat out at this restaurant as the restaurant looked nice decor wise and it has an extensive selection of food and drinks on the menu. Upon arrival, myself and my friend were given our table right at the back of the restaurant where there was no air conditioning but the whole restaurant was hot regardless. It took over ten minutes before I was able to catch a waiters eye to indicate we would like to order out drinks and food. We ordered our drinks from the cocktail menu, just to clarify that they were included during happy hour which seemed to annoy him. He rolled his eyes and confirmed how much drinking time we had left. We then proceeded to order a dish tandoori surf and turf which contains meat and fish. The waiter said we would have to wait at least 45 minutes and told us to choose something else and order some starters. This seemed to really agitate him us not ordering starters as he kept repeating just get something else as well. My friend had to intervene and explain we had been to a restaurant before and we knew how to order our food. So he told us we could just wait. We also asked is the meat/fish could be bought out on separate plates (not an unreasonable request as many other restaurants have accommodated more without fuss). I eat meat and my friend is pescatarian. He said he couldn’t do it without bothering to check with the kitchen. I then stated it wasn’t a big ask and could he ask if the kitchen could accommodate it. We also confirmed that the food wouldn’t be cooked together so it really didn’t require a lot of effort to do. He refused to even ask, saying he could tell the waiter but the waiter would forget. Eventually he said he would put a note on our order but the waiter might miss it. To my disbelief this rude being belched over our tables in our faces and proceeded as if he had done nothing. I really could have got over the arrogance but when someone is that disgusting especially in a place where food is being catered for the public we had no choice but to walk out immediately. Staff seems to be a real let down for what could be a really nice successful Indian restaurant. Visit at your own peril but be warned over rude staff and lack of hygiene around your food. If I could review with no stars, I...

I recently dined at Maaya and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I feel compelled to share my feedback to shed light on the issues I encountered during my visit.

First and foremost, the behaviour of the staff was highly unprofessional. I was taken aback by their rudeness and arrogance, which left a sour taste in my mouth from the moment I entered the restaurant. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and dismissive, lacking the basic courtesy one would expect in a dining establishment. It is essential for a restaurant to prioritize customer service, and the behaviour I witnessed did not meet even the most minimal standards.

Furthermore, there was a severe mistake with our order. We had ordered eight starters and eight main courses in total, but to our dismay, the staff mistook it for four main courses in total, instead of 4 main courses on each table, and started behaving extremely rudely with the ladies. They were trying to intimidate the ladies into ordering more dishes that what was required. Additionally, the service at Maaya was exceedingly slow. From the moment we sat down, it took an excessive amount of time for the waitstaff to approach our table and take our orders. The entire experience was plagued by long waits, which further exacerbated our dissatisfaction.

Due to the aforementioned issues, my companions and I were left with no choice but to cut our visit short, which unfortunately disrupted the planned meeting we had scheduled. As a customer, I had high hopes for Maaya, but the overall experience fell short of even the most basic standards of hospitality. The combination of rude and arrogant staff, the mistake with our main courses, and the consistently late services left me deeply unsatisfied. Dining out should be a pleasurable experience, but unfortunately, this was not the case during my visit to Maaya.

I sincerely hope that Maaya takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issues I've highlighted. Improving customer service, ensuring order accuracy, and streamlining the service timings are essential steps to regain the trust and satisfaction of diners. I hope to see positive changes in the future because every customer deserves a pleasant and memorable...
