I’ve had Acropolis at various markets throughout the years, have also eaten inside their actual places, and ordered from there too so evidently, I think quite positively of the food. The gyros can be a nightmare to eat as they’ll inevitably fall apart, and the sauce goes everywhere. Not so much of a problem if you’re eating inside or at home but if you’re trying to eat it stood up, outside, at a market, super anxiety-inducing, for me anyways. The flavours of the halloumi gyro are enough to make that worthwhile though. The tirokroketes were pretty good too but I don’t think they do them anymore. I already liked this place initially but I definitely liked it more after I tried gyros from several other places that paled in comparison. Introduced my family and partner to this place and they all really enjoyed it, especially my grandma who now likes it more than I do. I think the gyros can sometimes be inconsistent with their filling, proportion of halloumi, salad, chips. Speaking of which, I think the chips could be a lot better, and are definitely the worst part. Last time I was here, I did find the guy that served me quite unfriendly, rude and just not a good representation of the business, that day at least. I did not feel particularly welcomed or valued as a customer. As for the other staff member, she was much more polite and professional thankfully. A lot of reviews saying they think the prices are spot on, I actually disagree with that. I do think they should be a bit cheaper. As nice as the wraps are, there’s not a lot to them ingredients wise, so I think £10 is pushing it for what you’re getting. Overall though, pretty good indeed, and would certainly recommend.

Absolutely amazing as always, but today was even better! I ordered a wrap and tub of sauce because I’m obsessed with their tzatziki sauce! When the delivery came there were 2 packets in there which was confusing as I’d only ordered 1 thing and it turns out that they had so kindly put a free wrap in with just the tzatziki sauce, which of course I ate! Huge portions, amazing chips, the chicken is cooked to perfection and the salad in the wrap wasn’t soggy it was fresh and crunchy. Thank you very much Acropolis I’ll definitely be back soon! 100% rate this place.

I’ve had such good food from Acropolis before but this was so so disappointing. Paid over £10 for the most basic bagged salad with 4 slimy pieces of halloumi that literally would have cost no more than £2 to make at home. We were the only ones in there and 5 mins after sitting down the girls turned the music up so loud so we couldn’t hear ourselves think so we had to leave. Genuinely will never go back.

I'm very disappointed with the order I place by Uber eats... The food was send around one hour earlier and arrived cold... Driver said in the restaurant was prepared different food for other customer while my order was ready and he needs to wait for the right order for another customer so this food shouldn't be send to me they should prepare fresh food for me. The portion for £15 for platter and for 2 pieces of halloumi (2 fries) for £3 is really funny. I was eating so many times in greek restaurants and they always giving massive portions of food because in their country this is priority but I cannot feel this here. The fries under the chicken make me really angry, because there is more fries and pita bread than chicken on the plate! Salad have more lettuce than any other vegetables... I will never order again, because is time and money waisting. And to be honest! You cannot reheat the food because is not...

Acropolis Street Food in Jesmond is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Greek flavors! The vibrant atmosphere instantly makes you feel welcome, and the decor adds to the charm. The menu features a great variety of dishes, but the gyros are definitely the star of the show—packed with flavor and served with fresh ingredients in a warm pita.

I also highly recommend trying the halloumi fries; they are crispy and delicious! The service is prompt and friendly, making the whole experience even better. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you receive.

Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, Acropolis Street Food is a must-visit in Jesmond. I can't wait to return for another...
