Spy Bar — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

My first time entering this place. It will absolutely be my last. We hired the dart board which was £7.50 in which we had no issues with. However the member of staff behind the bar “Emily” came and told us the board next to us was booked in 10 minutes time, which was a polite gesture just to let us know. Once our hour was up the Male manager with short brown hair and a stubble beard came over and said very rudely with a horrendous attitude said “right lads you’re done if you want to extend you need to pay now”. We actually asked to extend during our hour which we were told no. I went to the bar to ask if we can extend it and we were abruptly told “NO I have people waiting”

The people waiting were said booking next to us however their lights weren’t working and they didn’t want to use the board. How this is our fault I do not know.

This ended up in the manager (male) having a go at us especially when we asked his name.

This is THE WORST service I have ever experienced from a bar, I would recommend to stay away from here.

The service is absolutely ridiculous delivered by staff! Came in at 22:15 for some drinks, been served by a tall lad, dark hair, kinda round face, not smiling or anything, been asked rude what we want, I asked for 2 pints a coke and pint a Heineken, he absolutely made the pint full of ice, I asked if he could take some out and he said “ what? From that? Can’t do it anymore! “ with a rude voice. That’s not the service, I’m working in a bar/restaurant as well, and even how bad my day was I don’t speak with customers like that! And then obviously I asked one more time if I could get less ice because I knew he could just grab a spoon and take some out! He aggressively took the pints away and bin the drinks from it and made another one. And then he also asked rude if we gonna pay which of course that what we were intended to do but the way he spoke and addressed is just ridiculous! Never come back here! First...

Table reserved on Sunday evening. Sat at our table with no problems. All the planning until the date was completely perfect. The welcome whilst we were there however, was very disappointing. Went outside for a cigarette and stepped onto the pavement outside the bar. On our way back in we were told we would have to wait in the walk in queue. Tried to explain to both the manager and the bouncer that I had a reservation inside that I'd paid a deposit for, and that I was just on my way back in. I tried to show them my booking reference and multiple emails I had with the business but again I was told I was ignorant and wasn't listening to the both of them, as they also ignored my response and reasoning.
