I like cafe beam don’t get me wrong. Its great to support people into employment being neurodiverse myself and have a learning disability I appreciate the struggles people get in this very difficult world we live in where its ever more difficult to find work with more people and less jobs. However last Saturday the service was super slow. We were informed it would take a little longer than usual for our order a few coffees, 2 bacon sandwiches, porridge and 2 cakes that were in a glass cover next to the till. I have no problem about this especially if I am aware, the layout and decor is lovely in the place, and I can talk away. We waited just over a 1hr. As we sat down we were welcomed by our host, the next table arrived next to us. They were served promptly after us. They too waited nearly as long as us. One of the staff then went over and said to them we are sorry for your wait can we get you some complimentary coffees? Of course we looked and thought they might ask us the same. Nothing…my children asked if they might ask us since we had waited longer….nope….Eventually when we were given our food, a new waiter said sorry for the wait. The food was nice, but it wasn’t anything complicated, being a small cosy place there was 6 staff and I didn’t really get why it had taken so long because it wasn’t busy (1230 by this point when food arrived) and after we arrived only 2 more parties arrived of people (7people). My relative went over and paid up in the end happy with his sandwich so thats a good point :) Certainly not the best experience this time round. Just like to point out these things for suggestions / improvement. I’ll definitely come back but not in a...
Read moreCafe Beam ? FANTASTIC !!!!! I called into Cafe Beam today after an appointment at the Freeman Hospital , this was my first visit , although I have had the privilege of seeing some of the outstanding young people that work there a couple of years ago at a pantomime at the Theatre Royal a couple of years ago . We were served by a young man who's name sadly escapes me ! But he was very enthusiastic and his witt and talent was second to none ! He instantly brought a smile to my face !!! ( I have Son with Autism and it was a wonderful feelings that one day he would aspire to being like this young man ! ) as if this wasn't enough !!! The coffee and food was amazing , excellent quality and very reasonably priced , as a Qualified Chef , I could see that food was outstanding and very well presented !!! The young man who served us put a little sign on our table saying " who has been a mentor in your life " That , for me would be my DAD ! He was amazing !! And always gave me something to aspire to !!!! That is What Cafe Beam is about !! SOMETHING TO ASPIRE TO !!! To some up ! Read moreI was recommended Café Beam in Gosforth by friends who visit regularly, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the positive vibes of the place.
The staff were exceptionally attentive, professional, and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate any requests. As a coeliac, I mentioned my need for a gluten-free meal, and the entire team immediately sprang into action. They informed me about potential cross-contamination risks but reassured me that they would do their absolute best to prepare my meal in the safest way possible.
All our meals were cooked to perfection, with expert culinary presentation to top it off. Having run hospitality businesses for over 15 years, I naturally observe a lot during such visits, and I can honestly say I couldn’t fault Café Beam in any aspect.
Fantastic work, team! I’ll make sure to visit every time I’m in...
