New New Bengal — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Edit: unfortunately, New New has changed ownership. We are totally gutted as our usual curry order no longer tastes the same. We always order chicken tikka masala and sadly since the change the chicken is always tough and dry, and the sauce is watery. It used to have a lovely nutty thick texture but now it is watery and tasteless. I am not sure why they felt the need to change the way they cooked the chicken/sauce recipe given the say they have kept the same kitchen staff and have kept everything unchanged. We are really sad to say we are not going to order from here again.

This is our favourite takeaway and we always call up to order and collect ourselves - far better value than using the apps! The restaurant doesn’t have to pay any fees then too. We really enjoy the sauces that come with the poppadoms and the chicken tikka masala’s are the best we have found in the area! Our go-to at the weekend....

I was quite disappointed with the lack of communication between the floor staff and the kitchen staff. After a discussion with the waitress my wife ordered the chicken Kori NOT TIKKA chicken Kori however they brought TIKKA this was then changed for the correct order. I had ordered the chicken tikka Balti when this came it was a bit bland while eating I could see the water running out of it the head waiter changed this straight away. The second meal much tastier and of better consistency. If they could get things right first time it would be a better experience. the atmosphere downstairs is pleasant enough but upstairs is like a café due to the fact there's no soft furnishing for...

A disappointing new year restaurant choice. The food was delicious but menu pricing very deceptive. My mum and brother where asked to pay £73.95 for 4 poppadoms and 2 narn breads, 2 curries and 2 beers!!! When on the menu it should have been a more reasonable £40. When they asked the owner why he became very agressive and said it was new year and everyone had to pay the 5 course set menu price of £29.95 per head. My mum and brother where not told when ordering or made the booking. A simple misunderstanding which could have been sorted out. Instead he threw money back at my relatives and threated to call the police... I would never recommend avoid...
