This is an incredible place. Delicious coffee, food and great friendly service from a fabulous team, the staff are always friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Big shout out to all the Nero Baristas and management. I am a regular at this wonderful cafe. Without fail the food, service and coffee are excellent. come here every day without fail. I’ve lost count of how often they have gone the extra mile for me, truly is a great chilled atmosphere, with chilled music. Extensive range of quality coffees, teas, and hot chocolates as well as great tasting food for breakfast and delicious lunches, brunches, and snack. There really is something for everyone at a great price and there has been considerable thought put into their menu. As a Jesmond resident of 8 years having tried every coffee shop in the area, Café Nero Jesmond Acorn Road still by far delivers the most unbelievable and best tasting coffee in the area. Always a speciality coffee on offer, this month was of superior quality, Columbia. Large comfy and cosy seating area and with a new offering of brand-new super-duper comfortable seating which I am loving, perfect for settling in with a great book and a bite to eat. The issue with Caffè Nero, Jesmond, is that it's really run down and rather dirty. The tables are often left uncleared, the loos are pretty grotty and the place generally needs a good deep clean - and a bit of updating too. Of course, it's a popular place situated as it is in the heart of a popular area and it attracts local residents and plenty of students alike, so they probably make a fair profit - but it would be good if some of that were to be re-invested. The staff are pretty good on the whole although there seems to be a steady turnaround. The coffee can be variable but usually OK. The food options are often limited or out of stock. There are tables inside and out, but it can get crowded and there are always a good number of customers who hog tables with laptops etc and stay put for the duration. Service for coffees is fairly decent. They clearly don't have enough staff though, as there are very often, empty cups lying around. I don't blame the staff here, I'm guessing this is usually the case with these chains. Quite often tables (if there are ever any spare) are full of trays with empties. They've recently brought in signs which ensure if you are there more than an hour you are to buy another drink. The place is often FULL of students.
