Do not go here, 33 years old and have never experienced being shouted at or the level of disrespect as a customer in my entire life anywhere. Started off by asking if we could get an additional chair, the man (who was apparently the manager) said he’d get me one but after 5-10mins it hadn’t materialised, so I asked again and was told to get my own. Fine, fair enough and didn’t think much more about it. I then went to order and as there was a few good sounding options, asked for what the manager would recommend. He told me to read the menu and no swaps were allowed and scoffed when I asked for a sausage instead of black pudding. At this point I started to think he had a bit of an attitude problem and sensed this underlying issue. My friends poached eggs and avocado arrived however where on the menu it said sourdough, it definitely wasn’t and when it was queried, was told there is none. She then had no cutlery to eat and again when we prompted for some, was met with some attitude and a wait to get any. The rest of our food then arrived and I’d ordered eggs Benedict. I started on one half and went to pop the second but realised there was no yolk at all in one of the eggs so decided to point this out and ask for another egg on the side. Was told I’d get it right away however I carried on eating and the egg didn’t appear. I then chased it up about 5 mins later with a separate girl and she said she’d come back but I saw her start on doing something else entirely. At this point I was very disappointed with the whole experience however things took a turn for the worse when I went up to the counter to chase up and speak to the girl. Immediately she turned on me, started shouting unprovoked by me and told me I’d already eaten the egg and couldn’t complain now. This was a blatant lie as I hadn’t and had shown the manager early on there was no yolk in the egg. I’ve never been spoken to by anyone the way this girl did. She was angry and nasty and shouldn’t be employed in a customer facing role. Someone else had to take over and said she’d speak to the manager. He then swiftly arrived and said he’d bring the egg over but by this point it wasn’t redeemable in any way. I pointed out how rude the girl had been and how shocking the service is just received was and he didn’t care at all advising they were busy and I’d been “nitpicking”. In fact it was the opposite and just asking for basics like cutlery… He then suggested I sit down, finish my food and leave. Basic food and diabolical service. Unfortunately this was my first experience of Newcastle and I’ve only ever heard people are supposed to be so friendly there however sadly the staff at this establishment are letting you...

After having a walk along the Quayside to find the baltic wasnt open, I continued walking with my friend and her baby in search of a cafe... Completely surprisingly nearly every cafe along the way was closed! Until we stumbled across this place. It was raining outside and the baby was settled so we just thought to have a nice warm drink out the rain. After helping my friend up the few stairs with her pram(not a problem) We were welcomed by a nice polite woman with dark hair, happy to accommodate us, setting menus on the suitable table. A blonde woman from behind the counter saying my friend had to move her pram to where she pointed.. which was fine as it was still close to the table.. This woman then started going on about how we needed to move as the pram was in the way.. My friend is a new mum so instantly was shocked at this experience, anxious of the woman's ongoing words and behaviour she suggested shall we just leave, and the woman agreed, that health and safety was the issue, in a cafe that had only 4 other customers in, where tables could of been moved only slightly. My friend is a new mum, luckily this wasn't her first outing, and I'm glad I was there to witness this appalling attitude, she should never be made to feel so discriminated and unwelcome under any circumstance. Happily walked back along and took our custom to the Cycle Hub. Beyond furious and embarrassed at the service that Queen Street cafe did not deliver. Do not recommend to families or to anyone with...

I visited this brunch spot with a group of friends, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. Despite being promised a chair for our table, we were left waiting for ages and eventually had to get it ourselves after being told to "just grab one." Not exactly a good start.

One of my friends was served burnt toast, and another received her meal with the wrong type of bread—not the sourdough that was listed on the menu. On top of that, they placed our food down on the table, but we had no cutlery. We had to wait, trying to get their attention, while our food went cold.

The biggest issue came when my friend's eggs were served without any yolk. She politely asked if they could replace it, but nothing happened. After asking again, halfway through her meal, the waitress rudely responded that my friend had already eaten the eggs, which wasn’t true, and then completely ignored us.

When another friend asked for help with recommendations or possible changes to her order, she was met with a dismissive, "get out of the queue and read the menu."

The level of customer service was shockingly bad. I understand they may have been busy, but the attitude and treatment we received were inexcusable. We tried to give feedback, but they were rude and dismissive at every turn. This is not how customers should be treated, and I definitely won’t be returning. Neither...

Very, very bad. I ordered a vegan breakfast and when it came it had fried eggs on which I was told were vegan lol. But they kindly took away the plate, scraped the eggs off and brought the same food back. The whole experience was a bit of a nightmare and I definitely won’t be back. The place could’ve been cleaner in my opinion. And take a look at this photo, you should be ashamed putting this filthy ketchup bottle anywhere but the bin, never mind putting it on a customers table. Just wipe it. Grimy place, useless service and don’t claim eggs are vegan hahahahh what a joke. Also that downstairs part is just a really grotty dungeon. Awful. Avoid. Unless you like vegan eggs. Maybe the chickens were vegan.

Beautiful cafe/restaurant in a beautiful part of the city. The team graciously allowed me in a few minutes before opening to relax and enjoy my coffee. For breakfast I ordered the Mexican Benedict and to say it was amazing would be an understatement! So good I will be back tomorrow morning! The cafe's decor is a wonderful combination of eclectic and country while being very inviting. Once inside, you will be met with the nicest team. Fully recommended! 10/10! 👏👏

Really lovely place, perfect for quick breakfast. A really cute café with great atmosphere. Lovely vibes. Neat n tidy place. Friendly, polite & smiley staff serving a good British breakfast with a massive pot of tea at a very reasonable price. Worth a value. There’s veggie breakfast options too. The cafe is dog friendly. I like the location just under the bridge. Really enjoyed my coffee because early morning it was bit chilly.
