It's a very good restaurant for Indian food. If you love chaat then it serves the best chaat in the whole of Hollywood and probably Belfast. Coming to the main course it has wide selection of veg and non veg food and the paneer butter masala is amazingly good with a bit of tangy curry. The staff are very polite and professional. This is definitely recommended for amazing Indian food and especially the chaat.

The food was nice. Starter was for 4 but could've served more. Mains were also nice enough. However, myself and someone else in the party decided to take some of the food home. The staff kindly brought down the food in boxes and plastic bags. To our shock, our bill included a surcharge of 50p for each plastic container and 10p for each plastic bag!

Tulsi is a brilliant restaurant in the heart of Holywood, offering classical dishes from several regions across India. From street-food style dishes and traditional home cooking, to gourmet fine dining, Tulsi has it all.

Named after Holy Basil, a herb with spiritual significance in many Indian Households, Tulsi prides itself on using the freshest ingredients, many of which are produced and sourced locally, to create authentic Indian cuisine.

We began the evening with a couple of excellent cocktails; the savoury Panjabi Tadka, a fruity, spicy spin on a Bloody Mary, and a great Dirty Martini.

Our starters were delicious; Paneer Tikka, marinated in yoghurt and spices, cooked in a tandoor, and some Pani Poori-crispy hollow spheres filled with spiced potatoes, and tangy tamarind water, literally bursting with sweet, sour, and spicy flavours.

Mains included a sensational sizzling Seafood Mixed Grill-an assortment of monkfish and prawns, grilled in a tandoor served with a curry sauce, and a delightfully tangy Achari Chicken with pickled spices.

We’re huge fans of a Daal Makhani-velvety black lentil daal, slow cooked with butter, cream, and aromatic spices, which made a superb sharing side dish.

Accompanied by wholewheat Aloo Paratha stuffed with mildly spiced potato, Mushroom Basmati Rice, and a bottle of Portuguese Coreto “Joker”, bursting with plump red fruit and silky spice, this was a wonderful meal in this terrific Indian restaurant. Many thanks to Vivek and the Tulsi team.

Tulsi has a great selection of Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan dishes available.

Keep an eye on our posts for an exciting giveaway in collaboration with Tulsi...

Undoubtedly the best (read authentic) restaurant in Belfast. I have been to a few Indian restaurants in Belfast now and mostly I have decided to not go back as the taste lacked the authenticity. But, Tulsi suprised me with its authenticity even on a busy Saturday. The taste was balanced, which is most important in Indian food as it has so many spices and therefore one of the spices can easily overpower if the chef doesn't have a deep understanding of the role each ingredient plays. Already planning my next order! A special mention to the warmth of the staff. It plays an important role in the experience! Even if the food is great, but the staff is rude, you would never go back, but Tulsi's staff was...

Service was very slow. 20 people in for a birthday dinner. Waiting staff couldn't cope. Took forever to get drinks brought to the table. We ended up going to the bar ourselves a few times. Niece had an ice cold glass of soda water and lime dropped down her back. It also went over her designer handbag and my sons £125 pair of trainers. Brought her a dirty tea towel to clean up with then didn't come back to retrieve it, so it sat on the table for the best part of the night. Female waitress had a real attitude problem. We tried a few times to make light Conversation with her only to be blanked by her. Only time she smiled was when my brother in law gave her a tip...
