Authentic Thai boat noodles in Norwich!
I've been craving Thai boat noodles for a while, and I usually travel to London for Thai food since there’s more variety—though it always ends up being expensive. A friend recommended Mango Thai in Norwich, so I decided to give it a go.
I’ve visited Norwich many times but never thought to try this place, as I didn’t expect it to be very authentic. I was pleasantly surprised! It’s a small, cosy restaurant with about nine tables and a really warm, friendly vibe.
I ordered the Thai boat noodles and Thai milk tea. The noodles were amazing—rich, flavourful, and the portion was huge (which I loved). For dessert, I had the Thai coco & banana (banana in warm coconut milk with sesame seeds). Even though they didn’t use the traditional kluay nam wa banana, it was still so good I nearly cried.

Read moreThis restaurant is a hidden gem, offering some of the best Thai food we've ever tasted—and we've sampled a lot! The meal started with the Tom Kha soup, which was an absolute delight—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, we had the prawn green curry, accompanied by two portions of steamed rice, and it did not disappoint. The curry was fragrant, with just the right amount of spice, and the prawns were cooked to perfection. We finished with the mango sticky rice, which was a wonderful end to a fantastic meal, sweet and satisfying.
Before visiting, we had seen reviews mentioning a rude older lady, which initially made me apprehensive. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience that exceeded our expectations!!! The prices are reasonable (we spent...
Read moreMy wife and her best friend went to the restaurant on the 12 July 2019, to enjoy a lunch time meal. As they went in the restaurant, they were greeted by the Thai lady owner and directed to sit in the corner of the restaurant. My wife and her friend requested to sit by the window to enjoy the view, but the owner was unhappy about this. The owner was rude to my wife's friend. This friend tried to make conversation with the owner but she showed "irritation and annoyance" instead. In fact, she flashed her eyes and was showing off to another Thai customer who also dined at that time. In terms of customer care, it was very poor and her attitude was insulting. I would absolutely not recommend a meal at Mango-T Thai Restaurant unless you enjoy being insulted! - which seems to be a...
