Currently takeaway only, but they intend to knock down a temporary internal wall and create a larger space. Buying in very high quality coffee beans. Whilst I was there a steady flow of customers. My espresso, complexity of intense flavour notes. Outside Nottingham Station, adjacent to Nottingham Canal, diagonally opposite 200 Degrees. A little group of coffee shops inside and outside Nottingham Station, Costa, Starbucks, 200 Degrees, Caffè Nero, and now the only one worth visiting , Økende. When customers complain coffee is expensive, compared with what? Compared with a greasy spoon cafe masquerading as a coffee shop where they buy the cheapest coffee beans, don't invest in staff or equipment, don't care what they serve, Økende will appear expensive. The corporate coffee chains, a little cheaper than Økende, are a rip off, a high price charged for poor quality coffee, dodge tax, only charge a little less. If want high quality coffee, then pay the growers more than Fair Trade, which pays a tiny premium above commodity price maintains growers in poverty as no premium for quality, invest in equipment, pay baristas a decent salary, then expect to pay a little more for your cup of coffee.

Great coffee and good selection of pastry. This branch on Carrington street only does coffee and pastry. The shop is small with a high bar by the window (about 3 seats) but has a cosy vibe looking out to the street. We had oat flat whites and they were lovely 🤍

I go quite often and grab food and have been happy, but I came to buy some coffee as a gift. I said I don’t know much about coffee but want to buy nice good coffee for a coffee lover. I was sold a fairly expensive box of beans that was roasted October. I asked if that was too long ago and was told ‘oh no that means right now those beans are prime taste’. Gifted it to the coffee lover and learned that that is in fact not true - the beans are fine but would have been better if more recently roasted. A bit disappointing, feel I was pushed to buy those beans just cause they were more expensive rather than directed to what actually would have been the best beans...

The pastries are sublime. It seems that they are made with some really good flour and generous amounts of butter, results in the being crispy, slightly savory and very moist inside. Delicious. Location and opening times are great, as well as the service. Been served by three different staff members on different days, they all were so friendly!

P.S. Would be great to have an option to add some butter to the croissant or to have some savory croissants...
