BOHNS Best Burgers — Restaurant in Nottingham

We went to Bohns for the first time yesterday and unfortunately it won’t be somewhere we are returning to.

We appreciate it that Friday’s are busy nights, but the customer service we received was really poor.

When we first got to the restaurant we were told we could go sit at a table so we did. It was very noisy which I was struggling with but we decided to stay as we had been struggling to decide where to eat.

We already knew what we wanted to eat as we had checked the menu outside so sat waiting for our order to be taken. It took 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Within that time other people paid and left and we saw multiple staff members cleaning and setting empty tables rather than come and take our order. Looking back we should have left but after waiting so long already that would feel like a waste.

We finally had our order taken. We ordered 2 vegan burgers, 2 fries, a sauce, and some drinks. My husband ordered the cream soda as on the menu it was by his favourite brand of soft drinks. He was then told the cream soda was sold out but they had a cherry soda he could try, he agreed thinking the cherry soda was the one mentioned in the menu by that same brand. When it got delivered to our table it turned out it was not the one mentioned in the menu, and it also was not a cherry soda it was cherry flavoured sparkly water. Again, having opened and tried the drink he did not feel he could send it back.

Our burgers finally arrived and I will admit they looked nice! I waited for our fries as I always eat my fries before my burger but eventually started to eat my burger as the fries didn’t show up. It was a nice burger but nothing special/ not worth the experience we had here.

We both finished eating our burger and our fries still didn’t show up. We kept seeing other tables receive fries, some other tables received ‘check backs’. Nobody came over to us. If they had; we could have mentioned that our fries had been forgotten!!

After 15 minutes waiting, we decided we had had enough and that we would go get some fries to eat somewhere else as we were left feeling hungry.

Thankfully we were not made to pay for the fries that never arrived, or the sauce I ordered for those aforementioned fries.

I guess it just shows that you can have nice tasting burgers but if your customer service is rubbish the food...

This place does exactly what it says on the tin.

BOHNS Best Burgers, simply are, the best.

Been here a few times and it never misses, perfect food, service and atmosphere.

The steak mate burger is simple, but so effective, the soft bun, tender meat, pickles, just everything. It's the perfect burger.

The dirty fries are gorgeous, perfect amount of spice, meat, everything.

The truffle loaded fries are phenomenal. Again, perfect. The perfect ratio of crisp fries, truffle mayo and parmesan. Every chip you eat has the perfect ratio of chip to topping. Not like other loaded fries that you'd get elsewhere where you'd end up with a load of uncovered fries at the bottom of the bowl.

Hats off to the chefs on everything. Very talented.

I would like to just note however, as a bit of advice, and maybe this was a one off. On the last visit I tried the BFC for the first time. I'll be honest I was slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it tasted brilliant, but was just lacking very slightly. The chicken coating wasn't very crisp, slightly too oily and borderline soggy. I think there may have actually been too much chicken in it which ended up just sliding around. The slaw in it was delicious, but not enough of it, and there could have been slightly more mayo in it. The ratios were just a bit off, which is surprising, and again I assume this is a one off. I would definitely try again.

Also, please bring back the sauce menu!!!! The paper menu's are very good, but you definitely need the sauce menu back. As well as the other special burger which I never managed to try before it was taken off the menu, it used to be at the bottom on the specials list and was always out of stock.

Again though, hats off,...

I am so sad to write this review, I have been in this place several times before and the burguers are amazing. However this last time we have such a bad experience.

I know that they don’t offer booking for table of two, so boyfriend and me we are very much aware that there is a chance that they would not have a table every time we go here.

We were celebrating an special occasion and we decided to come here. When we arrive a young women told as in a very arrogant way that there were not any tables at all, that we and we needed to wait for between 30 min to 1 hour to have a table, we say alright and asked if we can wait next to the door in the mean time, she said yes. If didn’t pass 5 minutes when another person, a young men, told us that we cannot be there that we need to go and come back to see if there is any tables available, I mean, it was raining at the moment, we were very agreeable to wait and they told us that we have to go! We feel that we were not welcome at all and felt that the way they say we have to go it was very rudely. So we went with a very bad feeling because we love the food in this place and we where celebrating our anniversary.

So to the owners, please train their staff, they are not nice or polite, I have worked as a waitress in the past, and politeness and a smile is free for everybody. Also if you don’t want to accept walk ins, then please accept bookings for small tables.

We have a terrible time this time and I feel so sad about it, such a shame since they are my favorite...
