Part of an independent chain of craft brewery pubs that offer superior food. Located on the banks of the River Trent, the Nottingham branch sure has a picturesque view. The outside seating area is vast and divided into different areas - some of them covered, some not. Due to the good weather I decided to dine outside, ordering a Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger (UKP 13.50) with sweet potato fries (surcharge) and a pint of the company's own medium-strength Talladega APA. The beer was fine (if unsubtle), and the burger - which arrived in due course - was excellent, with some of the yummiest sweet potato fries I've ever had. Definitely worth the extra 50p. Service was friendly and competent. Because it was still afternoon, not a lot of other people were present. Overall: Nice place, good food, solid craft beer, good service. What's not to like?

First time visiting this pub and I was pleasantly surprised. It's situated on the banks of the river Trent with great views of the river and Trent Bridge. There's plenty of outdoor seating some of it covered too so ideal for our always raining climate. There was a good choice on the menu however the typical burger and chips ended up being my choice! The food was rustic yet very tasty and the portion size just right. Where this pub comes into its own however is the array of beers and ales it has included its own brewery drinks. My visit was only a quick one while working in the area but I'll definitely be going back with friends in the near future to sample more of them lovely beers and the great atmosphere this pub has to offer.

I recently visited for the rum tasting. You get 6 rums to try, snacks and a cocktail. You can add a meal for an extra £10. The snacks were 2 packets of crisps between 3 people, which didn't feel enough and I felt there could have been a bit more thought around what would pair with rum or the carribean theme. Our rum guide, Jake, was welcoming and friendly. We were left quite often to watch youtube videos complete with adverts around rum distilling. I would have preferred Jake to talk us through the steps. We were given a varied mix of rums to try. We were given a dark and stormy cocktail at the end, but it might have been nicer to have a rum cocktail of our choice. I went for the meal at the end, which was very tasty.

We had high hopes for our visit but unfortunately this was not the case. We were greeted pretty abruptly, told to check-in for COVID but two of the group do not have the app. The tablet you use for alternative contact details wasn't working (NOT our problem) so we were expected to download the app, rather than you finding an alternative - not everyone has a smart phone. We were shown to our table that was clearly located in the smoking area. The bench was so high our knees touched the top of the table - how on earth do you expect us to eat food in that manner? We had to move over some normal sized chairs ourselves. We were told we HAVE to order via the website, no table service offered. Again, people may not have smart phones or cash only. The website also does not have the option for Apple Pay. This method is pretty outdated, as we are now in a time where some people do not carry card. We eventually ordered, when the staff bought the first drink we asked if they could ensure all meals were bought out together as we are 6 separate individuals ordering separately. You'd think during a time where the rules are 6 individuals can go out to eat together, this would be standard practice. We were point blank told no, as the food is made per order - would it have been that much of an issue to pop in the kitchen and ask them to hold off preparing the food for our specific table? You were not busy and I cannot see how this was a problem. The first round of drinks arrived and the staff member did not even know what they were! She just plonked them on the table and tried to walk off - she "only serves them, I don't know what they are". How ludicrous - do you expect your customers to sit there smelling and sipping each drink to see if it's the one they ordered?! One drink was also incorrect and we waited almost 20 minutes for the correct one. The food arrived, 5 out of 6 meals came at the same time. It was pretty standard and mediocre, price is high for what it is, especially drinks. The majority of the staff didn't seem happy to be there and it seemed anything we asked was too much for them. Would not recommend or be...

If I could give 0 stars I would. We sat outside to be told those tables wouldn't be served as it 'may' rain. Found another table that was sheltered still no service to that table. On a lovely day, which had no rain, we sat inside. We ordered at the bar and then waited. And waited. An hour went by and we were told we were 2nd next in the kitchen. Our meals arrived: 2 servings of pancakes, a brunch burger, a chicken, avocado and basil sandwich and two portions of corn ribs.

On the food: **Pancakes-one with one fatty rasher, the other with two burnt rashers-that unfair portion went down well with the kids-cheers! They enjoyed the pancakes but don't expect a stack if you order them! **Brunch burger-tasty and my son loved it **Chicken sandwich, bread delicious and chicken nice, not a basil leaf in sight and the bread was slightly green but no avocado, not even a small lump. When I asked the waitress I was told that it was more of a smear of avocado (?!). **Corn ribs-one arrived with a drizzle of sauce, we had to ask twice for the 2nd portion, when they came, we had finished our meal and they were drowning in bbq sauce. No mention of sauce on the menu and both dishes looked completely different.

The service was poor and VERY slow. I sent my sandwich back to ask for some sighting of avocado and it arrived after my boys had finished their pancakes. We had to ask for cutlery and sauces, which were delivered a while after asking.

If all staff (kitchen, waiting and management) were brand new then they did well, however it would not be professional or realistic to have every member of staff on their first day. So more training is definitely needed!

We were hungry by the time the food came, it was disappointing and the service was appauling! Won't be returning to this chain.

Ps don't offer seating outside in the UK if you're not going to serve to them 'as it might rain'- that's 320 days...

Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. We attended on Saturday afternoon after wanting to treat the children to lunch out. The atmosphere was quiet, there was probably about 10 people in altogether. We got there just after 12 and were told they had a function at 3 and therefore needed to be out by then... fine we thought we've got loads of time. Fast forward to about 20 minutes later, no one had been over to ask for drinks or food or anything. Our server came over, asked us for drinks and food, we gave our order, thought everything was fine, for the server to come back roughly 20 mins later to say 'food will be a 30 minute wait'.. again okay, but this should have been told at the beginning when we sat down. And also, considering there was like 10 people in there altogether, im not really sure why there was such a wait. Assuming it was something to do with the 'function' they had. The server then came back around 30 minutes after that, to say that they no longer had any fish and chips... again something that should have been said at the beginning or at least someone should have known the quantities of the ingredients. By this point, our children (youngest of whom is 4), were getting more hungry and it was now well past 1pm. At roughly 130, we still didn't have any food. Our food came out at around 2pm - well over the 30 minute mark. Alongside this, my daughter had the delight of telling me that the chef was grabbing chips out of the bowl and eating them, all of which I'm fine with, yanno he needs to eat, he's working hard - but this is the same chef I'd just watch grab a handful of chips and put them on our plates 5 minutes before - both incidents with no gloves on. After speaking to the server, who apologised and said she was rushed off her feet... our drinks were taken off. I'm not sure if they were just having an off day or what, but it...
