Kayal is a hidden gem that I recently had the pleasure of dining at. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a tasteful blend of traditional and contemporary, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance.
The highlight of my experience at Kayal was undoubtedly the food. The menu offers a delightful variety of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. I started with the uzhunu vada, which were perfectly crisp and filled with a flavorful mix of spices. For the main course, I tried their signature seafood curry, and it was a true masterpiece. The freshness of the seafood and the richness of the spices left my taste buds dancing with joy.
The service at Kayal was impeccable, Jo and Mathew handled our table they were brilliant. All the staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to provide recommendations and cater to dietary preferences, which added to the overall positive experience.
The attention to detail at Kayal is evident not only in the food and service but also in the presentation of the dishes. Every plate was a work of art, almost too beautiful to eat, but too delicious to resist.
In summary, Kayal is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience exquisite Indian cuisine in a welcoming and elegant setting. Whether you're a fan of traditional flavors or looking to explore new tastes, this restaurant has something to offer for everyone. I can't wait to return to Kayal for another memorable...

Read moreGood food but a bit pricey I'd say. That's the only reason I deducted one star. I had the chicken Biryani and it was really good. It took me back home. I am a malayali and it is so hard to find good Kerala food in the UK. Most of the Indian restaurants in the UK focus only on North Indian food. People haven't even experienced the beauty and variety of South Indian food. So it's really good to see south Indian restaurants in general and if it's a Kerala restaurant I just hit jackpot. Like I said the food is expensive but so worth it. Must try the masala dosa which they serve with sambar. This was one of the best sambars I have tried in the UK. U will definitely feel bad that u will run out of it because it's just a side.
They also do amazing chilli prawns with lots of caramelized onions. What could possibly go wrong. I would not recommend the baked goods like puff pastries as they are not worth the price at all. For a comparison you can buy that for 15p in Kerala 🙃. You can also try the uthappam which is not exactly a traditional Kerala dish but still rocks. And finally my last recommendation is a must try which is Kerala porotta. Which is definitely different from north Indian paratha. Porotta is more flaky and soft and fun fact the staple food of Kerala.
So hope you all have a...
