Solo Grano – A Napoli House in a tree hanging from heaven.
A place where your soul can find peace, joy, inspiration and as well where you can find yourself feeling as if being with your dear family and friends. The music flows as coming from heaven washing down all of your doubts and leaving your mind free to explore the miracles of your day. It is a place where mobility and firmness of spirit are enforced with the tall black rotative chairs and the support under your feet. You can have your food while keeping a straight back and your hands can easily reach whatever might be at hand.
Here you can enjoy a myriad of artistic elements of Italian culture: music, La San Marco hand made coffee machine, a selection of jars the best brands used in Italy, coffee & delicious food. Good place to go if you are interested to practice your Italian while having interesting conversations with people from a multitude of cultures, lovers of the Italian style food and coffee.
The lights are pouring a warm light which make you feel connected with yourself, others and the universe: a meditative mind state that helps you focus on your book or solving tasks on your laptop.
There are well measured storage spaces under the tables, hooks just at the edge of tables so you can make very comfortable which is a very thoughtful and remarkable idea.
What is more exciting is that they are so fast forward to expanding and they are going to blossom by opening a restaurant just upstairs with a setting for about 30 outstanding seats.
Please come and show them the love they deserve!
Thank you for taking the time to learn something new and I hope to meet you up there in the Heavenly Napoli Tree House rolling on the Wheeler Gate Street in Nottingham! Looking forward to say Ciao, Ciao, and Piacere Belissimo...
Read moreI visited Solo Grano and found it to be a charming place overall. Despite awarding only three stars, I appreciated several aspects of the experience. The restaurant exudes a cosy atmosphere, characterised by its clean and tidy surroundings. The dining area, although quite tight and on the first floor, is decorated nicely, creating a pleasant ambience for diners. One notable downside was that we were served in Segafredo vending paper cups, which detracted from the dining experience. This decision felt out of place for a sit-down restaurant, hense why I deducted one star. Additionally, being asked to pay before being served was quite unusual and not in line with my expectations for a full-service restaurant. Typically, I prefer the convenience of keeping a tab and receiving the bill at the end of the meal. This prepayment approach cost the restaurant another star in my rating. On a positive note, the gentleman who served us was exceptionally friendly and attentive, which greatly enhanced our visit. We ordered both pizzas and pasta. The pasta was amazing, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The pizzas, however, were a bit lacking in toppings. While I understand that traditionally Italian-style pizzas are thin, which is not my personal preference, they were still very tasty and amazingly good. The meal for three was reasonably priced, aligning well with our expectations, so I wouldn't consider Solo Grano to be expensive. One standout aspect was the expresso; it was the best I've had in the UK, which is a significant plus for coffee enthusiasts. Overall, Solo Grano has a lot of potential, but certain aspects like the paper cups and prepayment policy need réévaluation to enhance the dining experience. Solo Grano is still a...
Read moreOrdered over the phone this evening for collection. Got the focaccia-1 and the prosciutto di Parma pizza with added chicken (this was comfortably shared between 2!) Absolutely lovely fresh pizza and toppings, beautiful authentic bases and after 6 weeks of Hosptial food I’m in heaven! They did their best to keep the food well insulated for the trip back to qmc from the city Center and even added a couple of gifts and a get well soon message which has made my week! A very much appreciated gesture and one that has truly made my mind up about this place:)))
Some people may say it was slightly salty but it was perfection on a plate for us and we were reassured of their ‘fresh daily’ claim as we spotted multiple heavy bags of authentic Italian ingredients being bought into store during our collection and multiple talented chefs behind the pass. They’re very happy to make adjustments/additions to any of the menu items which is brilliant for picky eaters like me!
Very interested in the pasta next time as I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant that sells freshly homemade pasta daily! The place appears very busy, clean and vibrant, not somewhere you’d necessarily spend a quite or ‘tucked away’ anniversary meal. The focus is on the food and sense of family and you really get that in your first bite! Will recommend to anyone wanting Italian pizza/ pasta in...
