The Good Fellow George — Restaurant in Nottingham

Absolute gem to find in this area! I visited the good fellow George for a Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. I usually find pubs to churn out Sunday lunches meaning to quality tends to slip, but not with this place! The food was piping hot, of great quality and excelled with flavour. The staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The atmosphere was great and created the perfect experience. Not to forget the good selection of drinks, my partner was happy to find Hawkstone cider!

Everything was exceptional from the start to finish of my experience. Will definitely be back and would recommend to a friend. Looks like they’ve got a good range of deals on in the week too!

What a superb pub.

We visited to try the Jeremy Clarkson beer and their cheese on toast.

As it happens, there was a brand new menu of small plates and sides. Wow. Fantastic food. So we didn't get to try the cheese on toast, but that didn't matter as the chicken, wild mushroom, beetroot hummus, and fried potatoes were amazing.

The Hawkstone beer was excellent too. Plenty of choice for beer and ale drinkers.

Service was impeccable with very friendly staff who made the whole visit a joy.

Never been to TGFG before but always wanted to visit, so we booked in when my partners parents came up for a visit. When booking, the manager asked for any dietary requirements, my partner is veggie so we obviously told them. When visiting, the bar man said their veggie choices are limited to arancini and a few cheesey nibbles. Very disappointed, we finished our drinks and went elsewhere. We followed this up after and they took things quite seriously but we wasn’t prepared to get the bar man in question a disciplinary so we left it at that.
