UPDATE / Second Visit:

I returned a second time this weekend with my family and we chose different burgers (The Basic Boy), but again they are covered in grease and I find the buns way too soft. This isn’t a mistake, it’s just how they are made, so I can’t complain about errors or poor cooking. It’s personal preference.

I chose different fries as well the time, with toppings - one with bacon and the other was chilli cheese. Both were a mushy mess, it’s like a small child made them and proudly used every squeeze bottle of sauce they managed to find in the fridge. Plain fries are completely tasteless and lifeless still.

The Ninja chicken is the only thing we enjoyed. The burgers are just way too greasy, both inside and all over the bun.

Service and the environment is very good. Clean and pleasant, unlike Five Guys which is shabby, but the burgers and fries at Five Guys are light years ahead.

First Review & First Visit:

I went with my family (four adults) and I’d say the place looks good, is certainly cleaner than alternatives like Five Guys and a little cheaper too. I like that tables need to be booked.

We enjoyed the burgers and also a side of plain fries and Ninja chicken. Overall it’s “good” but not as good as the hype. I don’t see why it’s the second best burger in the world.

Would be better if the burgers had less sauce oozing out of them and a firmer bun. You’ll need a shower after eating them.

Fries are very plain without toppings so five guys wins there, but the smash burger patties are nice although rather greasy too.

The chicken was very tasty.

My recommendation is to order a simpler burger as the more sauce and melted cheese you have the more likely it is your burger has a mushy...

I very rarely leave reviews and only do so when I feel an establishment truly deserves one.

My brother and I booked a table for two on Saturday (08/11/2025). We’ve been big fans of the food truck for a while and were really excited to visit the new restaurant in Oxford. When we arrived, the staff were lovely, friendly, welcoming, and attentive and we were very happy with the service.

It was difficult to choose from the menu because everything sounded great, but in the end, I went for the Dirty Boy with a side of Bacon Fries while my brother ordered the OG Burger, Millionaire Fries and a Bueno Milkshake.

The restaurant was quite busy, so we expected a bit of a wait, but it was absolutely worth it! I was initially worried I might need two burgers (as I’m a large man), but one burger and a side each was more than enough. The milkshake was delicious, the portions generous, and the food easily ranked among the best I’ve had in Oxford. I’ve tried most burger places in the city, some good, some basic but this one truly stands out. In my opinion, this is the best burger spot in Oxford right now.

I also want to give a special mention to our waitress she was lovely, kind, and genuinely helpful. A real breath of fresh air!

If I had to be extremely picky, the only small thing I noticed was a large cobweb above our table on the ceiling by the French doors leading outside, and another nearby. It’s a minor detail, but without that, the atmosphere would’ve been a perfect 5/5.

Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was marvellous, and we’ll definitely be back, next time with friends and family. I’m already looking forward to trying another burger, and maybe one day, if I’m feeling brave, the...

Firstly, we can't fault the service, there was plenty of staff, and they were all very helpful, pleasant and friendly so top marks for that. The interior of the restaurant was also very good, fresh and new and a good atmosphere. We really didn't get on with the food at all though, my husband and I found it far too greasy. My burger bun was greasy to the touch on the outside? and they fry the inside of the burger buns which I'm really not keen on. The meat was good quality though and that bit tasted good. The whole burger was just far too greasy though, we both ordered different burgers and both thought the same. (We had to leave half of the buns as it was grease overload). I also like sweet potato fries but they don't feature on the menu and there wasn't a plain cheeseburger option, all the burgers come with bacon. (I picked it out but it seemed a bit silly when I didn't want bacon on my burger in the first place). My husband had the bacon fries which were overkill on the bacon, 2 slices of bacon on top, bacon bits scattered throughout plus bacon flavoured sauce, he couldn't eat them. The regular fries were also too greasy in my opinion as well so I couldn't eat many of those either. The milkshake was good, but not sure why it was served in a single-use disposable plastic cup, not very good for the planet. They should invest in some of those metal milkshake cups in my opinion and keep them cold in the fridge or freezer and serve their milkshakes in those instead... i really like Craft burger and GBK, their burgers are absolutely delicious...

Me and a friend travelled to Beefy Boys Oxford after going to their Beef Stock event in August in Herefordshire. We arrived 45 minutes before our time slot and the maitre'd worked his magic to get us seated early despite the restaurant being full. We are so glad we booked as it would have been hard to get a seat on Saturday afternoon without one. If you do plan on going, book via their website a few days before. My friend has a peanut allergy and we were looked after really well by all members of the team which was reassuring and made the experience even better. Our expectations we high for Beefy Boys and they did not disappoint. Everything was perfect. We ordered The Beefy Boy, The Dirty Boy, The Butter Garlic Boy, Oklahoma Onion Boy, Bacon Fries and Plain Chicken Tendons. The Chicken Tendons were so juicy, crispy and perfect matched with that honey mustard dip. The patties we had were cooked medium, and were so juicy. I've not had a burger that flavoursome and juicy for a while. Although we went for the burgers, my highlight were the Bacon Fries. I'd never had baconaise before and it was everything I'd hoped. Absolutely scrumptious. P.S. We got lost and had to call the restaurant to find the actual location. If you've not been before, Beefy Boys is on the Rooftop Terrace of Westgate Oxford. Keep going up the escalators until you get to the top floor and it will be there.

First time visiting this place, we went for the bacon burgers with smash patties with chilli cheese fries and poutine fries and tried a couple of pints each of the IPA. Burgers very tasty, was it an “oh my god moment”, probably not and the menu felt I guess a bit the same throughout. Chilli cheese fries had a nice kick and poutine was ok, but a bit bland. IPA probably the best thing on the menu personally, could drink that all night ! Service was good, staff were friendly, checked if we had allergies about 5 times and got served fairly quick. Decor of the place looked quite cool, and on the rooftop of Westgate so have options for the cocktail bars nearby. I guess what let it down….was price, 2 beers, burger and some fries (with service charge) at £40 a person ! I’m not one to be cheap but it’s burger and fries, not a Michelin star meal! I know the whole (order fries separately is a thing) but £10-12 for some loaded fries is a bit steep ! Personally charge a little more for burger and plain fries and offer the option for loaded fries as an extra, then I’d maybe order another side perhaps. Was it tasty….yes Would I return….probably not
