If I could give 0 stars I would. We arrived slightly early for our booking, there were only two tables that had customers, not a member of staff to be found anywhere. We decided to seat ourselves, then a member of staff finally came and asked if they could help. We gave our booking name and she informed us we could stay seated where we were. We ordered starters and mains, we were still waiting for our starters when others around us were being served their orders, these were tables that arrived and ordered at least 20 minutes after us! The our starters came, they were ok.. that’s the best I can say about them. In the first picture you’ll see the colour and volume of the oil that came off the calamari. Then we waited for our mains. A huge disappointment followed. The fish and chips had been under the hot lamp that the peas were a very dark green and solid on top, the plate was swimming in oil. No tartar sauce. I asked for it to be replaced, less than a minute later a new plate was returned to me, with the same fish and chips and charred lemon on it, but new peas and on a fresh plate. I know it was the same fish as it had my cut mark in and the chips had salt and vinegar on them! I cut into my fish and found very overcooked powdery fish inside. The medium steak came out like shoe leather, the egg was so solid it could double for a frisbee. Presumably not helped by being sat under the hot lamp for too long! The loaded chips were cold and chewy. When we asked the member of staff (that turned out to be the manager) to return the food to the kitchen, he listened to the first issue, then said ‘oh and what’s wrong with that one then?’ He was quite rude and very dismissive. No applogy, he just took the food away. He never returned to the table to discuss the issues either. We will certainly not be returning here which is a shame as it was good food and service when it was brewers Fayre.

Seemed nice enough but arriving at 9.30pm the staff seemed to want rid of us as soon as possible. Closing time is meant to be 11pm but last orders called at 9.45 and the music turned off. Such a shame as places like this will ultimately close down citing a lack of custom but will ultimately be a victim of their own staff wanting an easy life. In fact they are dimming the lights as I write this! And to top it all "were locking up now" at 9.55pm. Quite a hostile feeling sadly. You may want to update your opening times if you want to close early...

You need to enter your car reg on arrival. We were shown to a table for lunch, the waitress was quick to take our drinks order. The table was sticky and the decor dated. We had to go to the bar to order food as waitress forgot to come to our table to take the order. Food took about 15 mins to arrive. I had a chicken salad (no ceasar dressing). I had to ask for the croutons as they forgot to add them. Food cost wasn't too bad, but we did have a voucher, luckily.

If I could give negative 10 stars on service I would. But first things first - their breakfast food is deplorable and tasteless but dinner was much improved. The main issue is this establishment and the Whitbread family who owns it are able-ist and discriminate against people who are medically challenged. Not once, not twice, but three times and three different employees refused me service because my daughter and I each have service (assistance) dogs due to medical conditions. I was told by the first person who would not allow us service that I had to be either deaf or blind to allow my service dog and he sent me away. I complained at my companion hotel Premier Inn and the hotel manager had a conversation with them so the next morning I tried breakfast and the lady said the same thing that it was company policy that only the deaf and blind are allowed service animals on site, she even said the hotel manager had "approved" it but she was not going to honor it. The hotel made them honor it and the food was bland and most inedible. We went back for dinner, which we had paid for at the hotel in advance. Another female employee again refused me service due to my assistance dog and said it was "company policy." She also pretended I had not already paid (the hotel employee confirmed he could see our reservation and his screen looked like what the restuarant staff see). During all these incidents I was demeaned and discriminated against all the while speaking calmly and respectfully even though I was completely disrespected. However, they hang a huge LGBTQ flag on the door letting them know they are supported but unless you are deaf or blind, no other disability is acceptable to these people. I will NEVER stay with this hotel brand or support any business owned by the Whitbread family. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. By the way, I should mention I am a visitor to the UK and have been in multiple other eating and shopping, as well as tourism establishments, and NEVER have the staff treating me so poorly. I will say the hotel staff is helpful and respectful and tried their best to make it right but the restaurant staff are ignorant. As a visitor I want to note that my service dog and my daughter's service dog have had to pass rigorous testing and approval of my own government and the UK government to...

I felt it necessary to write due to the appalling service we have recently received, not just once but on 3 occasions at Lockyers Quay. On every occasion the staff have been rude and have lacked any care towards us as customers. On the first occasion, on Monday 12th April myself and my husband arrived to have a drink in the beer garden. The young server asked if we had booked a table which unfortunately we hadn't but we politely said no and just asked if it was still OK to have a drink. The server rolled his eyes and said in quite a rude manner he'd have to check. He disappeared for over 5 minutes, even though it wasn't very busy and just left us standing by the entrance to which we gave up and went somewhere else. Hoping this was a one off and giving the benefit of the doubt, we returned a week later and again were spoken to quite rudely by another young server. We also ordered some nachos, which were absolutely disgusting and inedible. Not wanting to make a scene, we just left them. However, we were due to meet friends the following day so we booked a table, with a harbour view again hoping for better service. The next day we arrived and said we had booked a table. The young server said there was no record of our booking even though we had booked it in person the day before and he was very off with us and basically made us feel like we were lying about our booking. He said he'd check if we could have a table even though we had made a booking! He disappeared for a while and then said he could seat us. He showed us to a table towards the back of the pub near the carpark. We asked if we could sit around the other side with the harbour view as this was where we had originally booked. He said the tables had been booked by other people, even though there was no-one sat there and completely disregarded the fact that we had originally booked to sit there. At no point during our stay did anyone turn up to use these tables. When we went to order drinks we were made to feel like it was too much trouble to take our drinks order and it took a long time for the drinks to arrive even though it wasn't busy. As mentioned, we hoped the poor service would just be a one off, but to receive such poor service on 3 separate occasions is just unacceptable. Combining this with the terrible food has convinced us not to return again and our friends also...
