Sutton Snax's — Restaurant in Plymouth

A strange experience here. Came in for lunch and there was a quiche with a salad along with other sandwiches. I ask for the quiche which was warmed and put on another plate and handed over. I ask if I could have the salad which sat on the original plate and the lady picked up a large leaf of lettuce and waved it around saying "oh no this is just for show".

I mean what is "show salad"? Other that the fact I bought the quiche on the impression it came with a salad, do they reuse the "show salad" each day? If so then what is days old salad doing next to the supposedly fresh quiche I was served. But... if the "show" salad was fresh they why not serve it with the quiche which it shared a plate with which I chose it.

Either way the piece of quiche was then very overpriced and looked pretty lonely on a plate by itself. For the same price you'd get a freshly made sandwich with real salad and chips about 700m away at the QAB...

It's a sandwich/snack shop. Mine's usually egg and bacon in a bap, early in the morning, to eat on the way to work.

You can take away, freshly made and hot, or eat it at one of the three or four little round tables.

In summer, what looks like windows turn out to fold away, and you can have a table in the sun in the large area of pavement outside.

They have drinks, too, and you can specify your preferences to a high degree - e.g. crispy or not crispy bacon and they get it right.

It's a good place to pass through for a filling snack, taking a rest to eat in, or taking of with you.

They also do a variety of deserts.

Parking isn't easy - but you are not there for long.

Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. Can't see that you can ask for much more from...

This is a new favourite place for me and a few friends to go and eat, we used to go to a very famous burger place on the barbican but due to a decline in food quality and price rises in recent years we have stopped going there. Here is our new hangout. Food is always amazing, staff are always friendly and we are always greeted with a smile, and when we leave there is always a thank you and have a good day.
