I booked via an online form but my booking was not confirmed then. I got a call to confirm my booking and to ask for credit card details. When we got there, I wanted to choose the ‘trust the chef’ option but was told I should have mentioned this at booking. So I can’t have this. Not sure how I should have prophesied that such a thing exists.I only saw it advertised on the wall when I got to the restaurant.Maybe the people who confirm these bookings via the phone calls should proactively ask people whether this is an option they would like.I honestly don’t get the rationale of their call if they are not actively advertising the only promotion they have at the restaurant. As expected my experience was quite bad from the beginning so got nothing good to say about this restaurant other than it is overrated.

Where should I start! The food was amazing, it was probably the best onion bahji, burger and desert I have ever tasted. The 'chocolate!!' desert was just heaven. It included a melt in the middle choc pot alongside honeycomb, brownies, choc biscuits and caramel sauce..!!! The burger was not just any burger... It was a Fig Tree @ 36 burger. You'll know when you have been there. Also, the hospitality and service was amazing very attentive and ensured service was quick and on time. Thank you so much for having me and my partner can't wait to visit again! Last thing to note is they have a loyalty card where you can get a desert free on your 6th visit.

This place is superb - go here! I went with my wife for a last-minute date. The atmosphere is lovely, unassuming and perfectly pitched for casual dining. Service was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. And the food! Everything we ate was delicious. My wife is coeliac and was accommodated perfectly. I had one of the best fish stews I have ever eaten with far more fish than you could shake a stick at, Rosie had an adapted mackerel dish which somehow made the mackerel feel delicate (I’ve been off mackerel for a while but this dish firmly put me back on to it!). I suspect this is going to become a favourite!

Second time we have visited this bistro and that is tucked away in one of the terraced streets of Stonehouse. The service is great and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The food is freshly cooked, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We did not feel rushed at all and spent the entire evening there. If like us, you arrive early in the area there are the options of local pubs and Royal William Yard for a pre dinner drink or a pleasant walk around the area visiting Firestone bay to enjoy the sea view of Plymouth Sound and Drakes Island.
