It was very roomy inside and all the staff were polite, welcoming and very courteous to me. Plenty of seating and things going on. It was fairly busy when I arrived and everyone seemed happy. However, I was not impressed with the pricing, and the limited hot food choices also. I was shocked at the price of the sausage rolls. I'm recalling from memory so I may be misquoting here, but I'm sure that it was not far of five whole pounds of queenies heads! Scandalous price. I settled for some crisps and a Tea eventually, and just watched my companions eat their overpriced food. Neither complained about the food so it's fair to say that the quality was not disatisfactory to them both. Anyway this is my own personal opinion as a food critic and a reviewer. You may not mind spending the money, and that's fair enough I respect that. All in all a solid 4/5 and recommended for a snack in between the wonders to see on this...

So went in here for a bit of a treat at the end of a long day out and rather wish I hadn’t. At 4pm, the choices were rather limited - it looked like everyone had just given up. Settled on some coffees and a couple slices of cake. Got to pay and the lady behind the till was rude to the man in front. He asked for 2 cream teas and she shouted tea or coffee at him. She then argued with him about whether cream tea included a scone or not (in case anyone from Boathouse 7 reads this, cream tea is TEA not coffee, and a scone). He was looking bewildered and even looked to us for help. The second lady at the till who I can only presume was a manager in a suit jacket offered no help. We sat down finally to eat our cake. It was almost solid. We gave up at this point. Massively overpriced and unhelpful staff. Won’t go again. Suggest anyone walks around to gunwharf....

Usually an amazing experience, today very quiet and shocking. Pizza selection used to be great, small or large, create your own (with olives yum yum), then selection went to about 5 types of small or large pizza, not bad. Today choice of 3 small pizzas - margarita, pepperoni, ham & mush. Chef came out and made us a large one then ran out of mushrooms. Asked the pizza chap to get more, who disappeared into the kitchen then came out and faffed with some plates. The chef had to leave making pizzas, go into the kitchen and cut some mushrooms - how hard can it be? Really felt for the chef but top marks for keeping his cool. Please get some decent staff to help your chefs. They're the face of you company. Where's Caron, always a happy...

Very informative visit made all the more enjoyable by way of talking to ex Royal Dockyard employees explaining in great detail the background, uses, working lives and traditions of the various exhibits from people to tools etc. A little gem of an exhibition located in Boathouse 7 alongside a souvenir shop and restaurant. One actual artefact I knew well being a boy soldier in my younger days and enjoying "fun character building" times dragging the red fire trolley round an army camp....Nice bit of nostalgia. Definitely worth a visit and a chat with the staff

Boathouse 7 contains the main café (overpriced!) and shop - but also the Dockyard Apprentice exhibition, which is easy to miss but really worth a visit. It showcases the various skills involved in building and fitting ships, such as carpentry, mast and sail making, rigging etc., with some fascinating exhibits (including Nelson's prayer - see photo). Highly recommended.
