Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Portsmouth

I’m not sure if there has been a change of staff but I use to come in here and the staff were so friendly. Today I was served by a member of staff that huffed and puffed at the customers. I witnessed her almost throw someone’s toastie order. She ignored my presence not even an “sorry will get to you” when it came to take my order she was rude there was no manners. She grunted and didn’t even listen to my order. I ordered oat milk but didnt convey that to the barista and I was given milk! Until I queried it. Dopy service but they do a good cup of tea compared to ostensible competitors Starbucks. Too many visits have brought across one or both toilets closed. Engineer response is pathetic and the staff shrug off all responsibility. On our latest visit BOTH toilets had been closed for four days. Previous repairs have been ineffectual. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable.

Handily placed for the rail station. Service usually ok. Like most coffee places in city tables can be taken by those who never buy anything which makes me avoid majority of time. Being billy no mates when I do go in, these freeloaders tend to take tables before I can get seated.

Latest visit hardly inspiring. Girl with braces seemingly unwilling to respond to a hello, or acknowledge a thank you. Basic customer service.
