Fuegos is such an amazing place 🤩😍🥳 Located down Elm Grove with an excellent menu bursting with flavours, we can strongly recommend this place to anyone ✅ It’s always busy with lots of regulars who keep going back for more, me being one of them! Massive shout out to the kitchen team, we can taste the quality in all the food ❤️ ⏰ Mon-Thu: 16.00 – 22.00 Fri: 16.00 – 22.30 Sat: 12.00 – 22.30 Sun: 12.00 – 22.00 📍93 Elm Grove Southsea Portsmouth PO5 1JF P.S. no alcohol served but they have a cracking mocktail menu. I’d also recommend booking. Blue Light discounts available 😊 #mexican #nightout #foodguide #elmgrove #portsmouth

I have been to this restaurant many times and I've always found it to be quite amazing. However, when I entered the restaurant today, I suddenly heard a voice behind me saying "excuse me!". She proceeded to tell me that she needed to show me to my table. I have been to this restaurant 5-10 times and this has never been necessary. I double checked and there is not even a sign at the entrance that informs you about this policy. She then showed me to my table and said: "Those two tables are fine". As if I should be grateful that I am allowed to sit down? Mind you, the restaurant was completely empty and there are plenty of small tables suitable for one person. When I came to the counter to order, the employee proceeded to be rude to me for no reason. She even removed my debit card from the card machine without asking me, which I think is bad etiquette. It seems to me that this employee was just in a bad mood and took it out on me. A major downside to this restaurant is the fact that they have no WiFi. As I say I think the food here is amazing, but after the rude welcome I received today I think I'll have to look for an alternative lunch spot. Two stars from me because the food was still excellent.

This was my second time going to Fuegos and I went with family (group of 6), the food especially the birria tacos are amazing, one of the best places for tacos! Most of the food we had was delicious, like the smash burger, beef birria tacos, chicken wings, sweet potato fries and mexican rice but the only let down this time was the chicken was extremely dry, we ordered a platter and chose the flavour hot for the chicken but it just had no flavour and was definitely lacking but the wings which were in medium flavour were complete opposite, so juicy and tender and literally fell off the bone. The other thing I would say is the table was way too small for 6 grown adults, we weren't comfortable and it was very awkward trying to eat the food as the space was limited, and we couldn't change it as all the other tables were reserved so I definitely think they need to think about this for future reservations. I will be going back but will avoid the chicken this time round, but other than that great service and portion sizes are massive and definitely good value for money.

I regularly order from Fuegos and I occasionally eat at the restaurant too. I'm sadly moving out of their delivery range soon but I'll be sure to still visit. I always recommend the place to my friends and I also recommend it to you.

The food: Their food is always enjoyable. I normally go for the pulled beef ultimate burrito, dome bread (honestly amazing) and nachos mexicana. When getting delivery the lining of the foil does stick to the burrito, so its worth adding a note asking for it to be wrapped in paper instead. Good milkshakes too. I've not tried the vegan options myself but my vegan friends have said they taste good.

The restaurant: Clean, tidy and well laid out. Even when busy the volume is comfortable enough to still have a conversation. The decor is tasteful and well done. Toilets always clean. Wait times for food are good.

Parking: It's Portsmouth, what do you expect. Can normally find something in walking distance.

Spice levels: The descriptions on the menu in the restaurant are pretty accurate. "7 chillis" is fun to order if you can keep a straight face when eating it long enough to trick your friend that it isn't spicy, worth ordering a milkshake if you get "7 chillis". "Hot" is a nice balance of flavour and spice. Bare in mind that if you order the dip, it's spicer than if you order the food cooked/marinated in the sauce.

Delivery: I live right on the edge of the delivery range for Fuegos so delivery can take a little longer at times, easily sorted by ordering earlier. The food always arrives at a good temperature and the milkshakes always arrive the correct way up so no...

Booked a rare family lunch date at Fuegos Street on Elm Grove Southsea on Saturday 2nd November 2024, after recommendation from a family member. Unfortunately the experience was not all pleasant. I ordered the pulled jackfruit burger. It arrived at my table (which was 20 steps from the kitchen at booth 8) COLD! I challenged the waitress immediately, stating i had never tried jackfruit before and wondered if it was meant to be cold, and her reply was ‘the pineappleslaw makes the jackfruit cold’ and she causally walked off. I took this as it happens regularly. The burger tasted awful, but after the response from the waitress I felt I had no choice, but to suck it up and continue eating a cold burger, I only ate half of my meal, it was not a nice experience. We also ordered the garlic dome bread & nachos for starters, both of these items were ok. Also my son & his Dad ordered the burritos apparently also ok. I’m so disappointed with my experience, I very rarely get out as I am a full time unpaid carer for my disabled son, who takes up all my time. I certainly will not recommend Fuegos Street Southsea to anyone I know. Had 2 small starters, 3 mains, 1 milkshake & a bottle of tap water, the meal came to over £61! Totally not worth it. I will not be returning to this establishment as a paying customer, there are too many better food options in Portsmouth. I really wanted to love this place but it has a huge...

We've never been to Fuegos before although we'd heard good things and wanted to try it. We finally went there last night with our teenage kids. You have to decide what you want and order at the till. There's no alcohol licence so there is 0% beer. This didn't affect us as they have a good drinks menu. Two of us had bottomless drinks and the other two a mojito mocktail which were lovely. The food came quickly and was really well cooked. You can choose sauces and alter how hot you want your food. For starters we really loved the tacquitos and baked cheese bread. For main we recommend the pulled beef tacos. We also had the lemon and herb chicken which was delicious. The sides were incredibly generous and you probably only need one each and could share. Luckily we could make up a doggy bag to take home! We also had 2 portions of churros between 4 (although we all admitted if we were hungry we could have eaten a whole portion to ourselves as they were delicious!) The service was excellent, really friendly and quick. There were no dirty tables or untidy areas, as they were quick to clear up. The decor was lovely, and it's clearly a popular place, so make sure you book on a Saturday night. We all agreed we would definitely go back and find an excuse to go again. If you're in Portsmouth and want a great meal, definitely...
