Had a great meal delivered from Shake and Grill. Had the Gourmet Beef Burger and was pleasantly surprised at the tenderness of the beef. The burger was also a good size for the price. Almost on par with Umami Burger but not quite. A good burger for the price though. Also had 3 grilled piri-piri strips to test their inferno flavour sauce. Unfortunately, not as hot as I was expecting. They were a little tough too. Still tasty but not as hot as it should have been for a flavour called 'inferno', especially when there is another flavour called 'very hot'. Chips were crispy too, evenly seasoned, not overly seasoned with the peri-salt like a lot of places do. Decent portion size but not the biggest. Wedges were also good, very thick and a good flavour too. Conclusion: Not as good as Umami Street Food but close to it. Good if you're on a budget and trying to save a few quid. If you want the best, look to Merchant House or 7Bone.

I used to really like this place but it has absolutely gone downhill in recent months. I found a plaster at the bottom of my milkshake (I didn’t notice it until I had almost finished my drink as there were clumps of Mars bar hiding it) which is absolutely disgusting. The manager on the phone then had a bit of an attitude saying that it was only the milkshake that was a problem, but he ended up refunding the whole order after I doubled down that the whole meal was ruined after finding the plaster. I am quite understanding of customer service roles but to be anything other than apologetic in this scenario (no one even apologised to me) is disgusting.

Had the bacon double burger and it was remarkably average reminded me on the sort of burger you'll get from the van before kick off to a football match. Quite disappointing and rather flavourless. The chips were better most had a nice crunch to them but they did get cold extremely quickly . The shake was the best part of the meal by fair I had the cookies and cream one and it was rather nice but rather small for a ' regular ' overall have mixed feelings about this place

I am absolutely appalled by the service I have received this evening. I have ordered food from here several times recently with no issue until tonight. I have been lied to and treated with utter contempt tonight.

I ordered online at 9.54 and was given an expected delivery time of 45 minutes. This was shortly after changed to 1 hour. Not the end of the world right?

I would've been perfectly happy had it arrived after an hour, but after an hour and a quarter I called up to check where my order was. I was told it had left 5 minutes ago and would be 5 to ten minutes.

When I hadn't received it after an hour and forty-five minutes, I called again and was told that it would be sent out in 5 minutes. Proving that the previous time I called, I was lied to.

I explained on this call that I would not be paying for the food as my partner had already gotten fed up and gone to bed. The man I spoke to on the phone was incredibly rude, said "We're very busy tonight" and hung up on me.

At 12.10, 2 and a quarter hours after ordering, the delivery showed up. When I explained to the driver that I had told the restaurant I would not be paying for cold food that arrived so incredibly late, he called who I can only assume was the manager, who told him "If he won't pay, don't give it to him innit". At which point the driver took the food back to his car and left.

I cannot overstate how disgusted I am with the way this has been handled. The business obviously do not care AT ALL about their customers.

This has completely ruined what was meant to be a lovely night in. Thanks to them, my partner and I will now go to bed hungry.

Absolutely atrocious. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. Please do not satisfy these money-grabbers by spending your money here. There are plenty of other local businesses that deserve your...

Visited Shake & Grill lszt night with friends to grab some takeaway. I'm a vegetarian and wanted to know if they cook their chips separately to meat. After some long-winded conversation with two staff members, a man tells me that the chips aren't fried in with any chicken. Just chicken nuggets. Yep, that's still chicken. 🤦‍♀️

They kept asking if I'm Vegan, which I responded no, just vegetarian but I'm happy to have Vegan food of course. So we go through all the options on the menu. There's a huge 'plant based' section and lots of items throughout the menu that's are marked a green 'V', indicating they're suitable for vegetarian.

Digging deeper, the Halloumi Burger (with a green 'V' next to it) is cooked on the same grill as the meat. The Sweet Potato Fries that appear on the plant based section are fried in the same fryer as the chicken nuggets.

There must be at least 20 items that are ''V or 'VE', all of which bar one (a plant based burger, which I assume is microwaved) are cooked either on the same grill as the meat or in the same fryer as meat and they have absolutely no means or intention of cooking it any other way.

I left completely deflated without anything and instead went to the Co-Op. My friend who is evidently not as much of a fussy, annoying d*head as me did get a chicken wrap. She's messaged this morning to say it's rather disagreed with her and that she can't get the smell of it off her hands.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to claim food is suitable either for V or VE and not actually have practices in place that mean they are indeed suitable. I can't imagine what this means for people with allergens. Absolutely unhelpful company who you definitely avoid unless you appreciate not having any idea how your...

So, ordered food at 8pm via hungryhouse for estimated time of arrival at 8.47. Fair enough. So i waited didnt recieve my order and went over the time to 9.10. Then i recieve a text message to say the driver came to my door but had no response. Well my doorbell hadnt rung so i ring the number from the text message, no answer so i gave the restaurant a call to which i was told they would contact the driver and ring me back. After a few minutes i get a call from the driver to say well that "because of grease on the reciept" he misinterpreted the address and took it to another house by mistake. So i say ok well is my food going to be cold now? He says no. He will be with me in about 6 minutes. I wait 15 minutes more and no food arrived. He finally arrived later saying he went back to the restaurant to add more food to compensate the mistake. When i sat down to eat THE FOOD WAS COLD!!! I ordered steak and steak is horrid when gone cold! The extra food added was another portion of wedges and chips to the already ordered portions of wedges and chips!. Too much potato and cold at that. By that time i was fed up and didnt even want to eat it. The lateness in service has gotten quite bad over time. I understand people make mistakes but in this case it almost wasnt worth the hassle. Ruined my evening and now ive got tons of fried potaoe that i dont...
