I recently had the sincere displeasure of visiting Scoops in Elm Grove and had an extremely disappointing experience. I ordered what was supposed to be cookie dough, but was instead served raw, slimy sludge that tasted of uncooked flour and somehow managed to taste burnt as well. I paid £10 for this inedible dessert.
I thought it was a mistake so I politely complained about the taste, but was told it was like this because they make it in the microwave. I'm sorry, cookie dough? In the MICROWAVE??!! I requested to swap it with something else of the same value, to which one lady agreed. However, just as I was about to choose something, another lady came and refused, saying I couldn't swap it just because I didn't like it. I explained it wasn't just because I didn't like it, the cookie dough was actually raw and tasted of flour. Had I known it would be like this, I wouldn't have ordered it. They should make it clear on the menu that their "cookie dough" is nuked in a microwave.
She refused to let me swap it and insulted me by offering a scoop of ice cream to make up for it. I pointed out that I'd basically be paying £10 for a scoop of ice cream. She then said there was nothing wrong with the cookie dough and offered to make another one since I said it tasted burnt. The audacity and terrible customer service were unbelievable. Obviously, I refused the offer of more freshly microwaved goo and went back to my table to watch my husband and nephew eat their desserts.
The most frustrating part is that I've been a regular customer at Scoops for years, and on this particular visit, I paid around £30 for three desserts. The fact that they could treat a loyal customer so poorly speaks volumes about their greed and disregard for good customer service. From other reviews, I see that I'm not the only one to have had this experience and shared the same opinions on the taste of the cookie dough. It's clear the owner doesn't care enough to take this feedback into account.
Seriously, how lazy and unprofessional do you have to be to make cookie dough in the microwave? And you call yourself a dessert place?? Avoid this place if you expect decent food and respectful service. Do yourself a favour and find...

What is actually happening? I then asked if they were social distancing & she point blank said they are not doing that in that establishment....the place must be shut down its a disaster waiting to happen staff didnt have no masks, no gloves & no hair nets. I watched a member of staff wipe their nose infront of the ice cream and then carried on working no washing of hands nothing....we will never go back and do no...
Read moreI was craving icecream so badly, I ordered 2 Sundaes. One Ferrero which was fine my sister had. But mine I ordered Scoops Chocoholic, on the menu it says Chocolate but the chocolate tasted like coffee. I have a feeling the girl mistakenly gave me coffee instead of Chocolate I was really annoyed especially as I had a bad day and really wanted Chocolate. Also there was only one scoop of chocolate not a range like the menu describes and more whip cream than anything. The girl did seem quite floaty it was late maybe she was tired as was an hour from closing. For the price I was disappointed. I wouldn't care if it was a scoop but for £10 you need a bit more care and attention to detail. I could have got a hot meal for that. Anyway I suppose mistakes are made. I think if selling icecream give the right flavour and smile. Again for the price it's a bit...
