🌟 Absolutely Outstanding Indian Cuisine – Highly Recommended! 🌟

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Akash in Portsmouth, and I can honestly say it was one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had.

From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting – perfect for both a casual night out or a special occasion.

Now, let’s talk about the food – absolutely incredible. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavours and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The balance of spices was perfect – rich and aromatic without being overpowering. The curries were beautifully cooked, the naan was fresh and fluffy, and the rice was light and fragrant. You can really tell this kitchen takes pride in every plate they send out. Whether you’re a fan of classic favourites or looking to try something new, The Akash delivers an authentic and memorable Indian dining experience. It's no surprise they've been a local favourite for years – and now I know why!

If you're in Portsmouth and craving truly great Indian food, The Akash is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be...

This is a very bad curry house. Went in thee on a Thursday night. No tables were clean they were filthy. When asked for a table they said hang on. We waited 10 minutes in the corner next to the kitchen door!! As there is no waiting area. When got to the table there was no napkins. The beer was very expensive at £4.85 a pint and as can be seen by the photo was not a full pint. After the poppadoms and the main arrived they did not attempt to clear the table just left all the plates piled up on the table. And as for the curry......... Well it was worse than a tesco value tin of curry. The lamb was very very tuewy and the rice was like a packet of 25p tesco instant golden vegetable savory rice!!!! Are suffted narn bread was not fully cooked ether. All for the cost of £39.64. Very very disappointed. Only last month we went to the gandhi. Had the same meal and a bottle of possecco for the same price and was lovely. Will not be going there again. If down Albert Road I would recommend the purple...

I don't normally leave bad reviews but I have to do it this time, I would love to say the food was good, but didn't get to try it. I made a reservation the evening that I came, was told it was alright, got there at 2345 on a Saturday night, they supposed to close 1am, when I got there they told me that they closed at midnight and I could only have take away, so I went to the bombay express next block along, who immediately gave me a table, when I finished my meal, I told the owner that the akash is supposed to close at midnight, he went outside and said that they were still open. Maybe because I'm of Indian origin they didn't let me in, but they didn't know I was a level 7 Google reviewer, that's their bad luck, I travelled from the isle of Wight to go there and they refused me entry, even though I had a reservation, avoid this restaurant, go to the bombay express,...

I had the pleasure of visiting Akash Restaurant with my husband and one of his friends recently, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The ambiance was absolutely delightful, creating a perfect environment for our dining experience. The food was nothing short of spectacular, offering an authentic taste that left us thoroughly impressed. What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the restaurant owner. He displayed a remarkable level of professionalism and courtesy throughout our visit, ensuring that we had a memorable dining experience. Every dish we tried was nothing short of incredible, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for an exceptional Indian dining experience as they have Bangladeshi style food as well.

Fantastic indian restaurant with a very budget and student friendly dinner set. The service was good. Had a 3 course dinner with friend. The sauces for the poppadoms were tasty, especially the yoghurt sauce. My dish, the house special George's korai is well prepared, although i prefer it to be spicier. My friend's lamb shank however was not hot enough (temperature wise). The desert was one of the best. The coconut icecream was not too sweet but still very flavourful
