We needed to feed a group of 16 people, which included 6 wheelchair users, after completing a Terry's Walkabout Tour nearby which overran. We couldn't have chosen a busier day and time (Saturday 16th August, 1.30pm).

Reading were playing at home and people were congregating at the station to attend the nearby Rewind Music Festival.

We managed to drag some tables together outside and got everyone a seat.

The staff excelled! As the interior was rather full of people, Georgie and Louis came out to us to provide table service. Georgie was so professional, calm and advised us to get our food ordered ahead of drinks so that the kitchen could start preparing.

Louis came out when one of the beers wasn't available and was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggesting an alternative.

The food arrived quite quickly and was delicious! I had the Flatbread with chicken. A generous portion size and very tasty.

The disabled toilet was spacious and clean (you need a RADAR key to access it), but was quite difficult to access due to the location and doors - plus navigating furniture inside the pub.

Altogether, an amazing experience, considering we'd not booked and that we were such a large group!

Can recommend! Thank you so much Georgie and Louis for looking after us so well - and to the chef for producing such...

Often overlooked this place on route to the station but it’s a neat little place with very good water. The staff are very friendly and nice. They even checked with me that the water was not too costly for my budget which i thought was very kind and thoughtful. But what can you say when water is your only vice due to medication any price is worth it. And I’m grateful for. Really good crowd and nice friendly atmosphere. Decor is lovely and there seems to also be a coffee shop but not open right now I don’t think. Staff working very hard moving glasses from one place to another. Good black and white photos. Interesting wine rack display. Good charging points. Very convenient. Very good music. Lots of space for suitcases while travelling so people can wheel in and out at leisure.p.s very wide selection of alcoholic beverages with nice on screen display for easy review and making a selection easy.p.p.s nice outdoor seating area good for all weathers but would be great in summer sun I’m sure :) p.p.p.s staff working very hard. Everybody relaxing having a beer. But lovely atmosphere very safe in lovely safe reading. Very nice people. Met a nice chap having a beer. Everybody just relaxing having a drink. Nice place. Having very...

Booked lunch here as convenient location for family to meet from different parts of the country.

Pub side has security on entrance and was very busy - queue for bar 5 or 6 deep, back to the door and outdoor seating full.

Our table was reseeced with a chalkboard, claiming 'cash only', alongside menus with online ordering and payment. Saw no staff for 20minutes, so used QR code to order.

Music was suddenly turned up loud, so no chance of conversation with family. This was at 1pm on a Saturday and request for volume to be reduced ignored.

Young male staff member served online order, was friendly but looked stressed and nervous. One burger was ordered without toppings or bun (these options were offered online) but was served as standard with unwanted mustard, salad, pickles and bun. We didn't bother complaining, as there were no restaurant staff around and bar staff were disinterested.

Very expensive for not great service. Small portion of Shepherd's Pie was £20 and cheeseburger £18.50. Food was okay but nothing special for the price.

Okay for food close to station, if you don't mind the cost, but would not recommend or...

If you want drinks then this is amazing place. If you want to eat here it is a totally different experience. From the start we waited for someone to take our order and I had to find a member of staff to take our orders and then they got my partners order drastically wrong. He ordered a burger with salad, cheese and bacon. He got a burger with a bit of sauce and one slice of bacon which I pointed out. They did say that his order should of gone to another table and offered to do another burger but we were catching a train. The only thing I did not like was they took off the drinks off the bill when in my mind they should of taken the burger off as well. When you get your order check and make sure a member of staff stays there while you check. Disappointing. When you book a table you can only have a table for up to 5.

i ordered the all day breakfast (spent Ā£20 on it) and to be brutally frank it was ridiculous… the beans came in a pot the same size as the ketchup.. it was like a portion for ants. the hash browns i paid Ā£3 extra for were just 2 frozen mini hash browns. the flavour was bland and the plate was mostly just chips as those are the cheapest thing on the plate. it’s a let down as this place has been good for food in the past. not impressed at all and not once was i asked if the food was ok. beans pot shown next to my finger and ketchup dish for scale… i mean come on.. that’s absolutely crazy if you want all day breakfast head onto richfields cafe ( not far to walk to ) as they are much more reasonably priced and will make you a fresh homemade hasbrown (twice the size of those 2 frozen ones) for only Ā£1 extra
