If you want drinks then this is amazing place. If you want to eat here it is a totally different experience. From the start we waited for someone to take our order and I had to find a member of staff to take our orders and then they got my partners order drastically wrong. He ordered a burger with salad, cheese and bacon. He got a burger with a bit of sauce and one slice of bacon which I pointed out. They did say that his order should of gone to another table and offered to do another burger but we were catching a train. The only thing I did not like was they took off the drinks off the bill when in my mind they should of taken the burger off as well. When you get your order check and make sure a member of staff stays there while you check. Disappointing. When you book a table you can only have a table for up to 5.

The decor was OK in the three guineas. Visited here with a friend. Ordered 2 pints of HSB and had to wait a while as they had to look for 2 pint glasses. Once served, the pint was short by a good inch and a half and the real ale was iced cold making it undrinkable. The 2 pints cost £ 9.20 making the pub very expensive and had to leave the pints as it was undrinkable. Found a better pub by coming out of the three guineas, turned right and down the stairs going towards the IDR. You can see the pub on the left on the corner of the T-junction. Beer was really good here and had 2 packets of crisps for the same price of £ 9.20 and the surroundings was better too.

Its been a while since ive been to the Three Guineas during which time its had a refit. There is a large selection of beers and ales and is reasonably priced. The Pub is situated right by Reading Railway Station.. and there is even a departure board inside the pub. It really is a nice place to wait for your train.. outside there is plenty of sitting.. where you you can watch the world go by. The one negative is the location of the Toilets.. up a winding stone staircase...i wouldnt like to tackle them after a few beers

Conveniently located to Reading station, it is an ideal spot to start and end any beer adventure in Reading. I sure used it. Nothing mind blowing on tap but the lines were clean and they had some of the good basics - engine and draught. Friendly bar staff. Great outdoor area. Clean bathrooms. I hear it’s an ideal spot to be when matches are shown on the big digital sign board in front of the station too.
