It’s a pretty decent and lively local pub, situated in the heart of busy Oxford Road, between a convenience store and a pharmacy.
The bar itself is a small, comfortable space but there’s plenty of seating. Shows a variety of sporting events on several large screens situated around the bar. So you’ll be able to see most televised events here. Very popular for big football matches.
It’s usually bustling most evenings and it frequently hosts special events- I visited on St. Patricks day this year which was great fun.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and the prices for draught beers and ciders are very reasonable. Only had the Guinness so cannot comment on wines or spirits or other drinks. Theres a seated area outside which is also the smoking area. Good transport links nearby- right by the main road, close to bus stops and Reading West station plus walking distance from the town centre. Accessible too as its all on the ground floor with no steps to access.
