No.8 Deli - West Bridgford — Restaurant in Rushcliffe

We often visit this place with my wife, and it’s always a real pleasure. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious and always fresh. It’s truly one of our favourite spots in Nottingham.

The only thing that makes us a bit sad is that the café has stopped accepting cash payments. I believe that limits a certain freedom we all have. Cash is, in many ways, a symbol of our independence and free choice. A place with such a wonderful culture and character should remain independent in every sense.

Paying with cash is not a crime – it should simply remain an option.

The food is usually great, but the service was so bad on Sunday 19th May that I walked out without ordering anything. I went in just after 10am, and after waiting a few minutes I was due to be served next. The person serving said "I'll be with you in just a minute". I replied "no problem". She then proceeded to walk around behind the counter putting pots away. There were 4 people behind the counter. One was just stood in the kitchen doing nothing. He even made eye contact with me as I waited. Ater waiting another 5 minutes without anyone serving me I just walked out. My first visit, and I decided to eat in for breakfast. Immaculately clean, with an extensive selection of filled rolls and torpedoes; but I ordered hot food from the menu. My ultimate breakfast brioche bap was filled with well cooked and presented, tasty ingredients: fried egg, hash brown, lorne sausage and plenty of bacon, with tomato ketchup.
