This is a lovely place with lots of different seating areas.I especially liked the wee nod to DC.Thomson.The staff were friendly and welcoming.I also liked the fact that they were all smartly dressed, you don't get that much these days, but there's nothing worse than walking into a place and the staff are scruffy looking(it puts you off)We ate on this occasion and I can honestly say the food was great and good value for money, the portion sizes were good also.Go and have a look for yourself.

Formerly a bank, listed property. Magnificent renovated ceiling and floor tiling, efficient and friendly service. Good value pub grub and a good selection of beers, lagers. Was especially happy to have choice of Italian Menabrae. Did not appreciate irritating, tinny commercial teenage pop music and the addition of the gambling machines in the centre of the pub completely unnecessary.

Visited as part of a Christmas party group of 30 for lunch. Two long tables set up for us, with a copy of our food orders, a great idea. Staff were young, friendly, and competent at serving our food and clearing away plates and glasses. Luvly Christmas decorations in pub, food was good, we all njoyed our visit :)

Three of us went there tonight for a special dinner. We arrived at 5:45pm. We placed our orders and our starters duly arrived which was fine. Our starter plates were taken away and we were informed that the mains would be out right away. After waiting for 45 minutes with no mains in sight I went to enquire where our meals were. I found three waitresses leaning on the end of the bar chatting to each other. One asked me if I was ok. I said no I wasn’t as our meals hadn’t come out. She said she would go and check with the chef. A different waitress came back to our table a few minutes later and said there had been a mix up with our mains order and that the kitchen would start them right away. After another wait our meals came out. The whole time there was no apology and no smile. No one came to ask how our meals were. When we had finished yet another waitress came and took our plates away without asking if we were finished or how the meals were. When I went up to pay there was no Thankyou and no smile. We won’t be...

DISAPPOINTED !!! Heard good things about this place so on Monday 13/05/24 we ordered 2 toasties which came with chips and salad.(wish i had sent it back now thinking about it ) You guys must have used the cheapest thinnest bread i have ever seen .. and it wasn't even browned very well Hardly any filling too ...chips were pealy wally and hard ..salad was a bit of a mish mash ....we did complain but it was met with a shrug of the shoulders from a male waiter. (very customer service like ....NOT..!!!) We paid the bill and again said at till about it ..all we got was ..."sorry to hear that " ??....Tip.....Try Warburtons Bread instead of that catering rubbish you must be buyin in.. Shame too because won't be back now on the basis of the food and ...

My sister and I went there for a Sunday Roast. Firstly there was no one to greet us. Eventually a server came over, we asked about the Sunday roast, what meats were on offer; only to be told meat??? Had to wait for the server at the carvery to be there to carve meat for us, he was abrupt and like it was an effort to serve us. The meat was dried out but I did enjoy the veggies. When we were ready to pay the bill, we went to the reception desk as we had just seen another patron pay there. Someone from the end of the bar, shouted you have to pay at the bar. Overall a very disappointing experience, the staff need to be trained on customer service. Definately won’t be back. Such...
