The hinterland isn't a definite recommendation, but it's not a complete no-go either. The soup of the day was very plain, but with salt and pepper, good. The gluten-free bread that came with the soup was a sweet roll, which takes some getting used to. The staff was also 50/50. Some were very friendly, others were a bit irritated. I hope the Person just had a bad day and feels more relaxed soon…. then special requests, like a dressing for the side salad, will work with a smile. If you appreciate good coffee, you should drink a nice pot of peppermint tea here. The pot for 2 is big and the tea really nice.

Many people seem to love it here. Unfortunately, it didn't suit our taste. So if you're here, just decide...

I stopped in here the other day for a double espresso and the first two sips of it very nice indeed. Then I took a bite of the chocolate that they served with it.

It was a mint chocolate.

I had a glass of water and so began furiously swishing it around my mouth, trying to get the mint taste out. It mostly worked.

Having a chocolate mint crisp after a cup of coffee is nice. Having one after the first two sips really sucks. It completely overpowers and ruins the taste of the coffee.

It would have only taken two seconds for my server to mention that the chocolate was a chocolate mint and that would have made all the difference.

Or just serve a dark chocolate instead with the coffees. Minus the mint. Food...

Awkward and greedy as I am, I asked the helpful and gracious waiter if I could have everything that was offered on the morning rolls (except the vegetarian sausage) on a plate. Without the roll. Happy to oblige me, what arrived a few minutes later was an absolutely delicious pile of perfection. The bacon in particular was as good as any I've had and the thick, brown toast was almost unbelievably good. The unusual addition of leaves and balsamic, rather than simply being a garnish, actually enhanced my breakfast. Thoroughly recommended, the staff went out of their way to provide me with a breakfast that was off menu and it cooked and delivered with style and panache. Quite...

On a day trip to Perth, and been to a café on this street previously but it was Hinterland that caught our attention. Fantastic! My wife's chicken and avocado salad looked and tasted amazing, as did my roast veg and mozzarella ciabatta. Cakes (carrot and lemon drizzle) were beautiful and worth keeping a space for. Location is lovely on such a sunny day, and staff were so friendly and helpful. It's the little things like nappies and wipes in the toilet for children, and spray suncream on the tables outside. And let the manager know the "Mellow Beats" playlist is far superior to "Throwback Thursday" 😁
