Staying a week in Inverness. We always seek out a good breakfast café and visit several times. Spotted this café yesterday, and returned this morning. All looked clean, we sat outside the main café. Ordered 2 Scottish breakfasts at £12.50 each, so not cheap in my view. Took quite a while to arrive, but that normally means things are fresh and hot. Nope! Where do l start? We'd specifically asked for no haggis. Sorry Scotland, but we don't like it! Breakfast arrived with haggis. OK, push it aside. Beans virtually cold, as was the scrambled egg. Bacon had been kept warm so long it was dried out, crunchy and inedible. Sausages hard, tough and not browned on the outside, so very unattractive. The worst bit was the potato cake burnt on one side, curled up and so dry it crunched. My husband took his back and tapped it on the counter, asking for replacements. They did arrive, eventually. The only good part was fresh hot toast, though the 2 pats of butter were served underneath the toast and on top of the haggis. Both had melted and leaked all over the haggis. Could you possibly get a breakfast any more wrong? Frankly, we should have sent it back and asked for our money back. Sometimes it's just easier to leave it, walk away and not come back. Definitely NOT...
Read moreIt's a lovely place. Lovely people. Great food. Brilliant coffee and terrific cakes. I was returning from an adventurous trip from Durness and after able to achieve the feat of exploring Durness , thought about resting a bit at the Victorian Market in Inverness. Then found this beautiful and romantic cafe which is located close to the entrance of the market. Well this was during my stay in the UK in 2019. Was thinking if the food prices will be high but in real it wasn't. Went straight in ordered the food and took the stairs to sit in the upstairs. And after some time a brilliant person with a great smile served the food. Spent more than an hour . Did a bit of work . Relaxed. Nobody pushed.
The carrot cake was superb. Really the best. The coffee was exactly the one I wanted after a lot of travelling. Those who love to take pictures , keep clicking here. An outstanding cafe to get photos. Inverness is such a wonderful place and this cafe makes it perfect to chill out and fill you belly at a very reasonable price.
So when you are in Inverness , you must visit this cafe and cherish a moment of your life. It will remain a lifetime memory. Thanks beautiful people. I wish to go there again when I will be...
Read moreA pleasant artisan gem in the heart of Inverness.
Stopped here opportunistically this afternoon, was looking for a light bite and a coffee.
Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordered two panini’s, first Haggis and Cheese and the second Tuna and Cheese. Both panini’s were excellent in presentation and taste, the tuna was infused with coriander which took the taste to another level!! Fillings were generous and the salad was perfectly seasoned. The bread was clearly fresh and soft. Cannot fault the food. Coffee was clearing very superior quality. strong and aromatic.
Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lovely little cafe, very clean and tidy. Tables were spaced well and diners were not sitting on top of each other. 50’s Americana 🇺🇸 music, which was very refreshing. The cafe attracted a mixed crowd.
Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ cafe is in the middle of Inverness and therefore competitive and I believe offers good value for money.
Summary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed our food and drink, could have happily sat all day listening to music and drinking coffee. The food was excellent, not the cheapest place in town, but it’s a small business and they need to survive. I would...
