My friend and I were in for lunch last Thursday. We have been once before and the food and service was good, unfortunately on this occasion the service was absolutely appalling. We had a young man serve us, who, although, very pleasant was absolutely inept at his job. I would guess it was a lack or zero training and experience. He brought the food out one plate at a time minus cutlery, he then fetched my cutlery but didn’t bring my friend hers, we asked for cutlery which he said he would get but then wandered off to serve another table, we eventually got my friend her cutlery. When we had finished we wanted to order some cake and coffee. Still with dirty plates in front of us I asked the female waiting staff if we could order and was told she'd be "back in a minute " She vigorously ignored us and eventually we asked the young man for coffee and cake. It came, eventually, but still had diry plates I front of us, the female member of staff asked if we had finished, it was blatantly obvious we were finished. My friend decided to order a piece of tart to take to her sister in hospital. I watched in astonishment as the young man cut in half an already tiny piece of tart in half. He brought the tart boxed up to the table, when I opened the box and asked him if he seriously expected us to pay for literally a slither of tart, he appeared shocked as if someone else had served this up. When I asked for the bill I was told to go stand at the counter (the rude female waitress) despite everyone else being brought their bill. It's been a very long time since I've experienced such bad service. Suffice to say it ruined the whole lunch and I will...

What a GEM we found ! Wonderful

We stopped at this establishment on Byers Rd this morning Wow!! What a lovely place

We decided to have a breakfast and we were certainly not disappointed - it beat me !

2 Bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, 2 sausage, beans, 2 toast, 2 black pudding! Excellent

I’m fussy about most of all those ingredients. However the quality of the ingredients were excellent and well cooked We enjoyed freshly made coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice - both flavoursome and tasty Thank you chef

We didn’t try anything from the dessert - pastry counter but it look very inciting- NEXT time!

The waitress was very kind and friendly 😀 thank you

The establishment is quaint, inviting and relaxing. Music playing but certainly not intrusive.

We sat at one of the banquettes. Very ‘old school’ and comfortable, tables and chairs are also available.

The toilet facilities are clean and can accommodate wheel chair users Also baby changing facilities can be found in the ladies toilet.

What a great way to start a challenging day ahead ! Certainly put us both in a positive frame of mind - ready to take life on !

Well done - gold...

On 2 occasions I have been told by the staff that they are fully booked and all the tables are reserved for the rest of the day ( which is a complete lie because they they don't actually take reservations and also don't want you to wait outside the door for a table so they will do what they can to get rid of you when the place is full) The reason I know this is a lie is because after being told this I have went to the coffee shop next door(kember and Jones) and as I've waited to get a table there I've watched people leaving Cafe Francoise (so a table is free) and watched other people that have not booked go straight in and be seated also I know that the people had not booked as they wanted to originally go to kember and jones but since there was a queue they just settled for Cafe Francoise. Since they have done this 2 times to me I felt they deserved this review as there is no need to lie to your customers, i'm not too sure if I want to even try to return...

Managed to get in for a lunch. They made us sign in for tha track and trace at the door. The waitress thoroughly cleaned our table before we sat down. I was delighted to see they had pancakes! The array of cakes was very tempting too. I had the honey latte which was delightful and the bacon, blueberries & pancakes. It really satisfied my urge for an American style breakfast but wasn't too heavy. I enjoyed it so much I'm sure I'll be back.

Sadly not impressed with our visit. The cake was dry, whatever is listed as ice cream is more like shaved ice, and my tarte tatin had a weird taste to it. The coffee was good. No one was around to ask for our bill or clear the table. The window seat and booths are a nice aesthetic but the tables in the middle are a little lack luster. Pretty expensive for two drinks and two desserts £22.
